Baggers2012

My Team:

Def: McVeigh(MID), Thompson, Houli, Hurn, Suckling, McDonald(MID)(Fuller, Langdon)

Mid: Ablett, Watson, Murphy, Beams, Thomas, C.Beams, Michie, Ellis (Honeychurch(FWD), Dunstan)

Ruck: Leuenberger, Sandilands (Thurlow(FWD), Lobb)

Fwds: Dangerfield(MID), Martin(MID), Franklin, Darling, Clark, Kerston (Taylor(MID), Garlett(MID))

Cash: $62,000
Bye Structure: 8/11/11 - keepers/top end midprices: 6/5/5

The 62k will come in handy if, after 2 games my calculated risks are struggling. Darling (if underperforming) can be upgraded to Pavlich/Gunstan/Zorko/Chapman/Gray/Rioli/Parker,  If Martin is killing it at the GC I can upgrade Beams or Michie (again if there struggling). I think ive managed to cover all bases in terms of structure, bye structure, underperforming players etc. One or two uniques without going overboard. Would love your thoughts. Cheers.

DEF: Solid, structure is sound, taking a risk on Houli and Hurn, but I don't mind it. 7.5/10

MID:  Similar structure to mine, think there is really good value here and you've exploited it well, just nail the rookies and it will do well. 8/10

RUC: Good, pretty standard. 8/10

FWD: Good again, Darling good unique is set too have a good year I think. 8/10

OVR: 31.5/40 - It is a very good side which is very well balanced. The only thing you could criticise is that you haven't gone for many top end premo's, which has allowed you to squeeze a bit more in, but as long as you make the right selections that should be fine.

The Pelican

I haven't got a team but why are you rating out of 40?

Rates each line out of 10, then adds up totals which gives a score out of 40

DEF: Good mate, solid as no complaints. 8/10

MID: Very strong, with 4 potential keepers and good rookies. 8.5/10

RUC: Standard set up, but don't worry it's mine too. 8/10

FWD: Obviously spent a bit less here, but if Clark and Fasolo come off you'd get by. 7/10

OVR: 31.5/40, good side indeed, if you could find a way to strengthen your forward line it would be great

DEF: Pretty standard, having two rookies in defence isn't well liked, but if both KK and McDonald line up round 1 I think it should be fine. 7/10

MID: One of the strongest i've seen, but probably detracts from the rest of your team. 9/10

RUC: Standard, no complaints. 8/10

FWD: Forward line is what lets you down here, 3 good options followed up with 3 pretty weak ones, the money here has obviously been spent in the middle. 6/10

OVR: 30/40, your forward line lets you down here, its pretty weak, and while you have an awesome midfield, it throws out your balance

Well bugger me that is strong, key for you will be finding enough quality in the rookies seeing as you have gone cheap at this stage. But here we go.

DEF: I literally just posted in another thread that I preferred to have McVeigh and a few of the top top guys but this actually works quite well. As you say these guys should all be in the top 10 defenders and if your last 3 defenders you upgrade too are McVeigh, Mitchell and Bartel that will be a very good backline. Anyway you have a good structure and this is probably your weakest line! 8/10

MID: Same set up as mine so obviously a 10/10 ;) But really, we have both gone for value here and I think that could be the way to go, Murphy and Beams both capable of averaging over 110 and well and truly being keepers. 8/10

RUC: The standard set up. 8/10

FWD: Well have a look at that. Honestly don't think you could have a stronger forward line without destroying the rest of your team. 9.5/10

OVR: 33.5/40 - This is clearly an awesome team, the question is whether there will be enough cheap rookies to make this team justifiable, and secondly if there is will they have the scoring power, JS and growth to allow you to upgrade effectively. If that happens to be the case you won't be able to start with something much better then this, and I will certainly be downgrading a few rookies, but for now I'm not totally convinced you'll be able to pull it off. Awesome team though dude

ben_020285

33.5/40

Yessssss!

Thanks mate but yeah you're right, if I am unable to fill my team with cheap rookies that play round 1 then I am going to have to find the cash to bring in a few more expensive rookies. It should be as easy as downgrading Pav to Clark which isn't too bad anyway.

Thanks again for the rating!

DEF: Solid, good structure but taking a risk with both Grimes and Swallow, neither might end up being keepers. 7.5/10

MID: Love it, same as mine, although it's not overly strong represents very good value. 8/10

RUC: Standard. 8/10

FWD: Again same as mine, really solid once more. 8/10

OVR: 31.5./40 - Really good team and really well balanced well done, if you could find a way to get grimes or swallow up to a premium it would be perfect
