Franklin is a gun but the days of the key forward have changed

Its not pagans paddock anymore where the forward gets the full forward 50 its trying to weave through 30 other blokes in front of you into a tiny gap to maybe get a shot on goal or pushing up the ground n being the first to flood back to goal.

We all know how much talent he has but in this era he wont be able to score like he used to

I'd give him until the end of this year to make that call. 2 average years in a row and I'll 100% get behind you on it... atm though, I've still got him in my team :P

I seriously think buddy has passed his best, basically not through his own fault but the way the game has changed. I think he will still contribute at a higher level, once he settles into his new team but I don't think he will ever get back to his magnificent best of 08.
Matthew Lloyd said the same thing on the Sunday Footy Show, and I agree as well.
haha also look at the different in his scoring, two years ago 13 goals mean't 200 points for him, last year 8 goals only meant 120 points.
Mate what the hell are you on about lol.
120/8= 15 points per goal, 200/13=15.4 points per goal. I genuinely have no idea what your argument is...

hahaha that bit was just thrown in for extra rhetoric hahahaha but you've got to hear DT Gun's point, the new rules made that apparently affected Cloke (I think it was Cloke) are going to affected Franklin, also the 200 point game was extraordinary in 2012 compared to the rest of Buddy's scores likewise the 122 was the exact equivalent in 2013. Maybe he's just capable of less now. My whole argument is subjective just because I believe that his fantasy career's over (and so far everything is indicating that my opinion is correct until he can produce at least a +90 game). But honestly his highest score of the year will be 120. Like previously stated maybe he's just capable of less now. Also I think a lot of people are being deceived by his price tag (which isn't even cheap to begin with taking into account that people are sacrificing spots that could go to Parker, Tmitch  or Wingard who all should outscore him easily this year and furthermore will be playing in the midfield (and will all probably score more goals as well  :P ). I just fail to see a point to start him (sure pick him up once he's got a few good scores and risen $50k). The 101 average was two years ago and we should consider the 78 more highly. The way I see it, we can start him and he becomes a useless sub79 averaging player or we can wait see if he comes good, and in the rare case he does, then we could pick him up for $470k. The $50k is worth it taking into account doing so eliminates the greatest risk in DT this season also $470ishk for a +95-101 averaging player (who has actually established his seasonal potential with a score other than 50, I'd only pick him up if he got consecutive hundreds) would be a much greater bargain than the rip of $420k for a 78 average player, that a lot of money for a player whose average last year indicates he's pretty useless. Some rookie forwards should come close to that range. You can focus on one minor detail but ultimately you have to look at this argument (I think it's more of a discussion than an argument because most of us are not trying to achieve anything, I'm mainly just here to provide readers of the forum some alternative perspectives) holistically. As a whole Franklin just isn't good anymore, whether that be dream team or AFL (the last good game I saw from him in terms of both was the 122 against Essendon). I think if he performs well in AFL it won't convert over into Dream team. Like I said he's stuck in the wrong team for a player of his style and I don't know whether it's a rule change or just Buddy in general but his scoring is horrible and it's getting worse. 78 last year and I don't think it'll rise this year (and for now that fact, it may be based off 1 round but objectively that one round plus the prior season indicates the 'against Franklin' point is view is so far correct, of-course Franklin could change that if he managed to score a +90 next week)

....none?
If we talk non vest effected then maybe Lewis Taylor or Bock when he comes back? I really don't expect them to average that high though but they're probably the best bet for me.
