Is he still a lock? After poor NAB Cup I think I'll pick Caddy over him for Round 1 and re-assess.

truBLUE

Yes ,Can not see caddy pulling buddy's scoring ability and his price is hard to ignore , wouldn't read to much into his one nab performance  ;)

pommyadam

that game was shocking conditions
i'm checking the practice game

and then in rd1, he's up against GWS, so he might just be worth playing anyway

as for a season-er, difficult to tell at this stage, but let's see how he goes in better conditions and when premiership points are on the line

elephants

It was slippery as when he played against the Eagles. Also the Swans were missing most of their first choice midfield. The quality of delivery was disgusting. Leave Buddy out at your own peril ;)

He is the biggest lock of all time for me. Reckon he will tear up at the Swans.

Bigger lock then D. Beams???

Completely agree with you though

Traded to Wingard (still contemplating Tmitch instead). I think he is a waste and his scoring will decrease from last season. In my opinion he is no longer DT relevant.

Downgrade to Caddy or Pav for some value or upgrade to Parker or Tmitch as more reliable Swan's forwards. I wouldn't be surprised if Tippett outscored Buddy this season

I think going to the Swan's will maim his performance, they have too many tall forwards and I'd actually rate a lot of them as better players atm.

Who knows though, he could prove me wrong (I was one of the guys who disparaged JJK last year and missed out (although JJK was around $200k cheaper). If you think he'll perform well you should stick with him. Another reason I dumped him is because I really want Wingard in my team, to the point where I'm disregarding TMitch, someone who I honestly think will score better

Adamant

Never judge a premium based on their NAB scores.

Haha ok maybe not as big of a lock as Beams :P He is an underpriced gun though!

On second thought... he's a dud. No-one start with him #notworthit ;)

Better options for dream team. I think hes a sc lock though. Mitchell a better swan option for dream team, getting mid stats and laying big tackle numbers! Buddy depends too much on high goal counts for my liking in dream team.

owenbond007

He looks a bit out of knick atm. Like in 2009. I'm backing him to get back into condition and rip it up at his price you cant really go wrong. As for round 1 not for me I'll assess his performance and all options before picking him for round 2.

RookieDTer

Yea, alrite, a few mixed opinions (not surprisingly!)

I've taken him out for Round 1, downgraaded to Caddy and used the money to upgrade Hodge to McVeigh and Pendles to Swan.

Theoretically,

Franklin 90
Pendles 110
Hodge 90
=290

Caddy 85
Swan 115
McVeigh 95
=295
+$19k

If ever there was a guy who lived off past reputation it was Spuddy. He was good in 2008 but I've always had him and always been disappointed. Not this year. No Spuddy.

elephants

Loving the number of those not getting on! ;D

Last year the Hawks kicked 414 goals which Buddy kicked 60 of. Sydney kicked 363, at that rate he would kick 52, which isn't a huge difference. The main worry with Buddy is he is known to miss games. So he may be viable in AF, but I wouldn't pick him in SC or VS.
