he said they will be ahead of him doesn't have to mean top 10

Went from dominant Brownlow for mid to great inside mid with no other strings than the odd shot at goal

Was it heavier attention? Eitherway, teams know about him and I can't see him hitting the heights if 012 this year, expect more of the 013 version unfortunately

Absolute word.

What part of his game is he going to change in order to require the 110+ u predict.
He is a one trick pony. When uv owned him u realize he is not a option anymore.

Until he starts to kick the ball, I just can't think of a reason to have him in my team. Would only get him if it was my last mid upgrade and he was absolutely killing it all year, definitely wouldn't start with him

Probs doesnt mean much but he was BOG in the intra club match

JPK has a nice draw, here are is avg against his last 3:

GWS: 107,147,123 AVG: 125.7
COLL: 93,56,168    AVG: 105.7
ADE:  87,118,74    AVG: 93
NORTH: 136,99,57 AVG: 97.3
FREO:  151,132,103 AVG: 128.7
MELB: 96,132,78     AVG: 102
LIONS: 102,97,129 AVG:  109.3
HAWKS: 101,143,126 AVG: 123.3
ESS: 126,86,94       AVG: 102

Total AVG:109.7

Conc: If he continues to handball his avg will be 100-105, but if he starts kicking it will go to 110-115. Not for me. Cotchin rocky or watson will be better. Upgrade target if he does better later on.

Could be an inspired pick but i agree with you, you would have to go one of these 3 regardless of the Swans good start

Interesting article on the AFL website today saying that JPK has battled groin issues throughout his career and 'fell over the line' at the end of last year.

He goes on to say that with the help of coaching staff, he has learnt how to manage his body better and he is feeling really fresh both mentally and physically for the season ahead.

It has to be noted that this is a guy that averaged 120 in 2012. If he can get back to that form then he will be one of the top 8 mids this season.

Another interesting fact is that he started last year extremely well averaging 122 over the first 8 rounds. A drop off in form after that may be as a result of the soreness that he battled last year and wasn't able to manage properly.

Could be a really good POD that is a bit cheaper than Watson, Rockliff, Jack etc etc.

Explains why he didn't kick the ball.

I'm strongly considering JPK given his price, his round 10 bye and his relatively easy first 8-9 matches. At the moment Jack looks a better prospect given his kick to handball ratio but a return to 2012 form for Kennedy would be huge.

As for Watson, Rocky & Cotchin, I'm not so sure.

Watson has a very tough start and based on last year's scores will struggle to average 110 over the first 9 rounds. Cotch has the round 8 bye which is a deal breaker and Rocky also has a very tough early draw.

I had JPK in 2013..i don't blame him though, I blame myself for paying a premium price for a guy who had only produced 1 year of premium scores....96 ave in 2011...120 ave in 2012....Mr Handball (as mentioned above) is truly his name.

Very interesting article over on SuperCoach Scores about players who have improved their average PPG by more than 25 while crossing that 100 mark and how nearly all of them except a few go backwards the following year..they have the statistics for you to read aswell, give it a gander.

Why did he start going handball crazy? The groin sounds like the most logical reason, I highly doubt the coach gave him instructions to stop kicking. Injury also hampered Cotch as the season wore on, but i expect him to also bounce back strongly. The one thing Kennedy has going for him is his price, he's approaching the bargain basement end of the midfield pool. Just for the record, here's his first 8 scores of the 2013 season.

147 vs GWS
108 vs GC
136 vs Nth
80 vs Geel
109 vs St Kilda
102 vs Brisbane
143 vs Haw
151 vs Freo

Average= 122

Over this time his kick to handball ratio was well up, if the groin issues have been sorted then there's nothing to suggest he can't turn it around.

He's definitely on my watch list.

Picking a Swan mid will be the best decision you make.

yes, my team is very Swans heavy, McVeigh, Franklin and Jack/Kennedy. Also sizing up Laidler and Parker.

As a swans man, who do you think will average more in SC this year. Jack or JPK?
