UTM is on to us clearly. This must be why he never makes any useful trades, because the other 17 teams are all the same person.

Surely the redraft will be a three way with London involved since they're the most hopeless team in all the land.

Just an idea

With 2 new teams about the enter - as this is "Worlds" why don't we have the two new teams based in Australia and Antarctica, then we can truly be Worlds having covered all 7 continents?

By technicality, NZ (C'Church) are technically on the Australian continent, so Antarctica is the only one you need to fill.

Eskimoes could work? But then you lose the history of the two clubs in some ways.

Nige

Not exactly realistic to base a team in Antarctica though.

Its not realistic to base an AFL team anywhere other than Australia, of which their are no teams

You think AFLX is gonna make other countries get into AFL, pffft

Would make a pretty good home ground advantage  :P

Valid point, I don't mind the idea of re-branding.

The only reason why I'm hesitant, is that both clubs have had a re-structure in their history, and feel a second change kinda harms their history.

I think I'll let the new coaches decide whether they want a new character name, though.

WXV Media

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with recently departed WXV coach Levi434.

WXV Media sat down with Levi434 in an exclusive tell-all interview since that fateful night of Thursday, August 23. Levi reveals everything from the people behind the accounts, to their original plan for 2019 and of course the motives behind leaving World XVs in a state of disarray, before deactivating their account.

WXV Media: Thanks for doing this Levi. The question on everyone’s lips - what exactly happened on Thursday night? Levi, can you give a rundown of the night as you saw it?

Levi: Thursday was suppose to be FanFooty’s night of nights. The night that I look forward to most in the year. I spend hours on end researching, collating, formatting, making memes, sending out superlatives and everything to make it as good as I can. In turn ruining my own night because I know exactly what was to happen. No excitement or suspense for me.

The night was set to commence at 9PM AEST. I went on to discord at 8:40 to build hype but there were only 5 coaches present. I already had a feeling that the night would be a major disappointment. I began to question if I had done anything wrong, forgotten to post anything or if people simply didn’t care.

Nevertheless, I continued with Awards Night. Posting the round intros, round-by-round results, the leaderboard all whilst continuing to chat on discord. The night was going well regardless of the fewer numbers.

At this point the night started to go downhill. A few people in the discord chat decided to make the night all about themselves.

Unfortunately despite the fact we are living in 2018, I can still sense the misogynistic, sexist undertones of being called out for my lifestyle. My music taste was belittled and mocked. When I sent out the superlatives, the number of coaches who made homophobic or sexist comments in relation to the question “If you had to marry a WXV coach who would you choose?” was disgraceful.

The ever present toxic masculinity on this website drove me to becoming fearful of who I am. Despite the fact that no one here knows who I am, I felt like coming on here was fun and a simply way to get away from the daily subversion I feel. Being a homosexual male who is contemplating transitioning is a perfect excuse for narrow-minded individuals to turn on their “gay-dar”, slur or to force us into certain corners of society.

I noticed some more subversion and disregard being directed towards one of our fellow coaches, Adamant. At this point I contacted Adamant and reassured them that I didn’t want them to leave. I told Adamant that the vibe being displayed in the discord chat was NOT a representation of the community and that I could tell that a certain few others felt the same way.

Here we decided that this wasn’t something we wanted to be apart of. We devised a plan to leave this place behind us once and for all.

WXV Media: You mean to tell us that all of this was an impulsive idea?

Levi: Of course it was. You really think that my big announcement was this? I had an announcement planned that would have shifted WXV to new levels. I was originally planning to create a new thread in WXV. I was going to be called “The WXV Themepark.”  It would have basically been a year-long Awards Night. There would have been; Weekly Superlatives, WXV Confessions/Thoughts, WXV Yes/No, Tag-a-bles, Memes, Starterpacks, Rule tryouts, Fun minigames, ‘Who said this’ game, Rolling Stynes Medal, New Awards and so much more.

WXV Media: What has happened from just a few days ago when you were considering creating Continental XVs?

Levi: It's honestly sad how much effort I put into awards night amongst other things. Counting votes is a nightmare. It's heartbreaking to think about. Going through every round putting all the players into their team and sort that. And then having to format it all. Send out and tally superlatives. Make write-ups for each round. But I was fine doing that. I wanted WXV to be the pinnacle competition and was willing to admin and run it. I love WXV and wanted it to be absolutely amazing.

WXV Media: So you and Adamant are definitely NOT the same person?

I’ve never actually met Adamant before in my life. If we passed each other on the street we wouldn’t recognise each other. For whatever reason we’ve simply become friends through FF and it’s gone from there. It’s not dissimilar to how Purp and Zander are friends. Nor HP and Daz or RD and AK.

All of our trades were fair and realistic at the time. How was I suppose to know that trading Alex Witherden for James Kelly would look so bad in hindsight? At the time Alex Witherden was Pick 29 who hadn’t played a game and was coming off a broken leg. James Kelly was coming off a 95 averaging season as a defender and Rio were chasing a second flag.

Also why wouldn't we just send Cripps and Yeo to Toronto and just completely stack one team?

WXV Media: Have you been in contact with Adamant since then?

Levi: I have no way of contacting Adamant as I’ve said, we do not know each other outside of FF. Having said that, Adamant if you are reading this, I would really like you to share your point of view of the whole situation in the coming weeks.

Nige

Nothing positive to say? I’m honoured someone hates me that much, that’s literally never happened before haha.

So as most know, I'm currently off-season trade advisory/semi-assistant at Cairo, it's a pleasant, banterful environment apart from the fact that Nige is a bit of a tool, and it's been good to get a little window into the WXV over the last few years.

I am however, after consideration, happy to look at moving somewhere that requires a more active assistant presence in order to get a better understanding/be more heavily involved as a 2IC moving forward.

I love to trade & specialise in youth & picking breakout seasons in order to maximise value from trades. I'm an avid watcher/researcher throughout the year of both the lower leagues & of draft prospects, and feel I can bring a fair bit to the table for someone looking for some help.

Plus I also have an AFL live pass, so I'm your heat map guy for predicting DPP's. :P

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're looking for a new assistant. :)

BB67th

After missing out on one of the coaching roles, I'm keen to still get a bit more involved with the WXV competition.

If there are any clubs out there looking for an assistant through the trading/drafting periods, please send me a pm :)

If I delist Ablett but remained within the cap is that acceptable? Or will I be done for taking, even though the cap is there to prohibit tanking?

You'd have a net loss, so you wouldn't be taking anything.

Tanking on the other hand... interesting. A PM would be sent at the very least.
