Seems to me it would either be resting or tanking, I'd wager Holz using 'general soreness' means rested.

But, you know, should state it clearly lol

I reckon Dublin has had the most tanking accusations of any team. funny given my standing.

Well maybe, except for that one time in 2014...

After conversing with Holz, and;
- the fact that it was Goldstein
- that I believe him that he was trying to put a humorous spin on it
- that it makes ZERO sense to drop him

Then yeah, I'll count it has him being rested.

But please, make sure you state it clearly next time Holz  :P

what about that time i named Newnes twice but one of them was meant to be Kelly and you believed me but i still had to cop Kelly in the ressies!

isnt there a big difference in making a mistake and intentionally resting someone and calling it general soreness (A.K.A Resting) rather then the comp specific term.

I would have thougt there is .

Nope you made a mistake by typing the wrong word, so did i!

kilbluff1985

think jbs is making a valid argument actually

you cant punish someone for making a mistake and not punish someone else

who thinks naming a team is meant to be funny anyway

I didnt accident type the wrong word. I attempted to make my post realistic. By calling a resting, general soreness on a sperate line below my team announcement like i do every time i rest a player.

by the way i have been caught out the same way you have on the newnes thing.

it wasnt a mistake but anyway.

I personally like the fun of the competition where people take it soo seriously its like they are running their own afl squad.

If anyone actually thinks that Goldy wasnt rested then ill happily take back the 10% bonus, but I doubt anyone will as its basically as obvious as can be.

Either way, if the game is decided by 10% of Goldstein's score, never hear the end of it!

AaronKirk

Of course Goldy was rested.

It would be stupid just to drop him for no real reason.

RaisyDaisy

I know that it won't change much and we will still lose, but I am calling BS on Goldy getting 10% resting bonus vs us

"He is listed as general soreness but rumors are he could be dropped."

That's Holz dropping Goldy for the 49 he put up, and he knew he could drop him because he has Currie, was always going to win that week, and Holz loves showing off/being arrogant because of how good his side is. No one else could ever drop a player like Goldy but he can

He was not rested, he was arrogantly dropped just to show off and make a point and now for that he should not be getting the resting bonus

Like I said, we will still lose anyway, but come on Holz you know you dropped him just to show off that you can, and have since realised you made a mistake by not resting him. Your Dublin ego got the better of you and caused the oversight ;)

The real reason is "because he can"

Nige

^ Pretty well summed up.

If I was NY and the result did come down to the resting bonus even though it was never formally stated, I'd be salty.

Yeah, valid point. But the difference here is that Holz at least alluded to Goldstein being rested as "general soreness" (because that's how the AFL rests their players).

But like that match, I doubt it'll make a difference.

Not gonna lie, that was my first thought too. But I see what Holz was trying to do and I don't think he'd to try as scrounge up a rest bonus if he believed he didn't deserve it.
