Don't want to put any pressure on the last coach (and you know who you are), but the votes are currently 8-7 (I won't say which vote is winning).

Argh. Really? I bet ya it will be a tie, then someone's gotta have to make a decision that people won't like  :-\

go tie go.

make a call Purp when its this close.

I dont have any voting just get a few peoples advice and go for it. My advice is basically your going to annoy 50% of people no matter what you do, so just do what you think is right

GoLions

If it's 8-8, I'll make the deciding vote. So don't worry Jack, I got your back! doges be crazy.

What would you prefer, GoLions (if that really is your name)?

Ringo

As in any democracy as leader of the house you get the casting vote Purps so use it well, (How much do you want in that paper bag)

The one that makes me a coach and that I also get Pendles.

Alternatively, the one that Nige doesn't vote for.

Hellopplz

So this is what I get for sleeping in today... FFS

Fyfe gone.

terrible end to the year.

Purple 77

All, righty.

Yep. It happened. 8 votes a-piece. Great. It's funny, coz I obviously voted for option 1 first, then the next 5 coaches to vote all said option 2, and I was like "Really?! Am I that out of touch with everyone?!" There were people on either side that said they weren't fussed, but voted for that particular option anyway, so I think that cancels each other out.

I feel like the major reason why people voted to keep the players separate, is that they didn't want to give vinny/Buenos Aires the get out of jail-free card after just one season into the rebuild. And that is fair enough, I'd vote no too if I didn't have my reasons (to follow). I don't want to set a precedent for coaches that, if they cocked up their team, then they can team-up with another coach who mucked up theirs and they get start over again. And people will say that they probably will just vote them in again anyway, because it would be "against the spirit" of something... so the risk of not getting re-elected is minimal. I disagree. I feel that if its obvious that this is the case, people will vote against them to get re-elected. We saw that happen (I forget who) when someone left a Worlds team to join another stronger one... only for comp to deny him the move.

I also think that vinny's intention to merge is not spurred on by a selfish unsportsman desire to get out of the rebuild. I feel like he is doing it with the right intentions. It should also be pointed out, that even though vinny did decide his share of those trades (most of which were pretty good), I believe the direction was decided by Nails. So it is of my opinion and belief that his coaching moves shouldn't be affected by that of the decisions of his co-coach.

After saying that, I hope some of the people whom voted the keep the players separate might be lenient, and understand my decision to continue with the re-draft.

I totally understand why people voted against it. When ossie and I were talking hypothetical's (like we often do), I brought up that I wasn't sure if I'd support a merger if a bottom team was to join a mid tier team (this was before Toronto), in fear of competitiveness. However, after I did some research, I quickly came around. So if this was the major reason why you voted against it, I hope in time you will also find that it won't be that bad.

I think I remember (but can't find a quote... think ossie said it), that at the time that Christchurch & Rio were being built, that it was discussed that this would/could become a regular thing. So this decision is also consistent with that.

So yes, that's my decision *hides behind clipboard*

We were one of the teams that said we are not fussed with either decision, because quite frankly we're not

I raised the issue initially as I had the other lower teams in mind, but personally NY isn't bothered

Good Luck to the applicants, and lets hope this works out well for all of us :)

kilbluff1985

why doesnt the new coaches get a say if they want to redraft or not

ossie85

Thanks Purps, I really don't want to cause a division though :/ wondering if it's best to withdraw?

Don't be silly Os

It has nothing to do with you personally, or even Vinny for that matter. It's all about the pass the Dillos get, but I agree in that Nails was the driving force behind that poor decision

There's rebuilding, but that was completely gutting the side
