We need the Min cap, cos of crazy trading that crippled teams to begin with

kilbluff1985

yeah but it's pretty annoying when most of your team is young besides a couple of old guys like Judd and S Mitchell so it makes sense to trade them for youth but we couldn't do deals due to points cap and more annoying is ours was mainly so low due to injuries

so we couldn't do trades that would benefit the team long term

that's why i don't like it

Toga

I actually don't mind that idea of weaker teams having higher list numbers than the top sides - as Holz said we have a bunch of younger guys that are kind of speculative at the moment but hoping they turn into good players, and it would mean getting rid of some of these guys (although we do have a lot of spuds as well) :P

Nails

The points cap is a lie.

Buenos Aires had like 6th lowest cap this year despite being prelim finalists :-X

Imo 2015 - Minimum: 28,000, Maximum: 29,000. There's your equality.

When I took over, NDT had (have) the worst list in the league. We needed to rebuild and trade players of value out for kids. That was made impossible as we had to get over the cap by brining in more hacks like Andrew Raines. It was really just an added obstacle for us. Much better for the comp if weak teams start loading up on kids then getting stuck with spuds just because they have more points..

Yep, sorta the same with Thunder. We proposed some trades where we "won" but we lost points...

Ricochet

Whats the scenario where having a max cap and but no min cap doesn't work?

JBs-Hawks

Keep both caps, its only the teams that get stung by the caps that arent fans :P

With List sizes, give teams finish 5-12 1 extra rookie and 13-18 2 extra rookies

At first the pumas were afraid, they were petrified
Kept thinking they could never live without ablett, captain of their side
CF spent so many rounds
Thinking how Ablett's injury did them wrong
Pumas grew strong
And they learned how to get along

Now ablett won't be back
from Melbourne Doc's Place
They just walked in to find Ablett with those post-surgery stitches and pain upon his face.
They should have given him the week off
They should have given him annual leave
If they knew for just one second that it'd lead to season ending injury!

Go on now, recover some more
Just rest in bed
We don't need you this season anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to win the game off your boot
Without you we won't crumble
Did you think we'd not even rely on our vice?

Oh no not pumas, they will survive
As long as they have vice captain Jacobs
Their grand finals hopes will stay alive
They've got all the finals to live
Free tickets to player's wives to give
Pumas will survive! yay, yay!

@New Dehli, Beijing...

.... you guys are already loaded up with kids and aren't competitive. Trading away your experienced players for more kid would make you less competitive IMO

elephants

But we will only ever be mid table if we only have half a team of kids and half a team of prems... That's not constructive for the comp moving forward..

@JB, sure. But does that make it good?

So, what ground is toughest to win at?

(min 10 home games)

Row Labels   Team   W   L   Total   %W
Fireball Stadium   Mexico City   19   2   21   90.48
Estádio do Pumas   Sao Paulo   17   6   23   73.91
Rogers Centre   Toronto   17   6   23   73.91
Borg El Arab Stadium   Cairo   17   7   24   70.83
Estadio de River   Buenos Aires   18   8   26   69.23
Crooke Park   Dublin   15   7   22   68.18
Luzhniki Stadium   Moscow   15   8   23   65.22
London Olympic Stadium   London   9   5   14   64.29
Newlands Cricket Ground   Cape Town   15   9   24   62.50
MetLife Stadium   New York   9   12   21   42.86
Berlin Olympic Stadium   Berlin   9   14   23   39.13
The Basin Reserve   Wellington   9   14   23   39.13
Tata Stadium   New Delhi   4   7   11   36.36
Seoul World Cup Stadium   Seoul   8   14   22   36.36
Tokyo Olympic Stadium   Tokyo   7   16   23   30.43
Beijing Olympic Park   Beijing   7   17   24   29.17

So Mexico City, Sao Paulo no real surprise there. Toronto's home record is imposing though, while Buenos Aires - considering its overall record - is probably under par!

London's Olympic Stadium is tough, considering the side has never won more than 50% of its games, a 65.22% record at home is very good. While Berlin and Seoul have disappointing records...

Overall, the home team wins 53.92% of the time, which is the kind of percentage you like to see.

Other Home grounds:

Row Labels   Team   W   L   Total   %W
Old Trafford   London   1   0   1   100.00
Guadalajara   Mexico City   5   0   5   100.00
Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay      Sao Paulo   1   0   1   100.00
Estadio Nacional, Lima, Peru   Sao Paulo   1   0   1   100.00
Stade de France   PNL   6   5   8   75.00
Stade de Gerland   PNL   4   2   6   66.67
Linkbelt Oval   Pacific   3   2   5   60.00
Stamford Bridge   London   1   1   2   50.00
Tuanaimato International Stadium   Pacific   3   3   6   50.00
Wembley   London   1   2   3   33.33
Wipro Stadium   New Delhi   2   4   6   33.33
Stade du Ray   PNL   2   4   6   33.33
Oakley Arena   Pacific   1   4   5   20.00
Nepal   New Delhi   1   5   6   16.67
Emierites   London   0   1   1   0.00
Lords   London   0   1   1   0.00
Michigan Stadium   New York   0   2   2   0.00
BSP Stadium   Pacific   0   6   6   0.00

Stade de France works well for PNL, while Pacific have yet to win at BSP Stadium

Yeh agree Oss, the only issues we had with it last year was we had a list that was below the cap. In order to get back above the cap we have to trade out quality kids for less quality (but more experienced) players. Stonger teams are less likely to go down that path because they are in a window of chance to challenge, and poor teams are already under the cap also, or close to it. We couldn't do 2 for 1 deals because we were already so low on points. So we had to trade in duds like Raines to get us above the cap. It just meant we couldn't trade for a quality players (like a decent ruckman). We should be fine this year now some of the kids have played but just this its something that should be looked into.

Dublin hasnt lost at home since round 5 2013 against London

have taken out since than

Pacific Islanders
Tokyo Samurai
Seoul Magpies
Moscow Spetsnaz
PNL Reindeers
Sao Paulo Pumas
Toronto Wolves
Wellington Warriors
Cape Town Cobras
Toronto Wolves
Moscow Spetsnaz
Buenos Aires Armadillos
Beijing Thunder

to notch up 13 straight at home, very impressive considering i started 2-7 at home.

got the suns this week so will be a tough ask going for number 14 without Rocky.

FunFact: An Ele/Rico coached side has NEVER lost at Dublin's home ground.
