Or you can stick with the snake them and call yourself the Mambas?
I think I like this one. Except I'd like the reserves to be a slightly less feared snake than a Cobra, because they are the reserves ;)

Although it should also be indigenous to Africa... hmmmm.

Haha, points for trying!  ;)

Screw it I'll just go with the Black Mumba due to it's pop culture references as Kobe Bryant and killing a guy in Kill Bill :P

Introducing the new reserves (pending an Ossie confirmation), the Cape Town Mumbas! It even sort of rhymes with Cobras... sort of.

Random.....

The Race for 50!

Mexico City Premiership Player Brad Ebert is the front-runner to be the first ever player to play 50 WXV matches! Having played in 41 of a possible 41 matches! (34 home & away, 7 finals). Can anyone catch him? These are the players not too far behind...

39: Brendon Goddard (Mexico City), Jordan Lewis (Mexico City), Will Minson (Sao Paulo)

Goddard and Lewis are Ebert's premiership team-mates, while Honey Badger may regret dropping Premiership star Will Minson that one time to the reserves (where he scored 117!).

38: Kane Cornes (Buenos Aires), Josh P Kennedy (Cape Town), Scott Thompson (Wellington/Mexico City), Rory Sloane (Sao Paulo)

Kane Cornes is a bit of a surprise! While JPK was hurt by Cape Town's early finals exit. Thompson missed out on a premiership as he was playing for Wellington in 2012, but then again missed out on a spoon as he was playing for Mexico City in 2013! While Rory Sloane, being one of the youngest and in a strong team, can look forward to leading the charge towards 100.

37: Daniel Wells (Berlin), Shaun Burgoyne (Mexico City/Buenos Aires), Trent Cotchin (Cape Town), Steele Sidebottom (Beijing/Mexico City), Jimmy Bartel (Mexico City), Nick Riewoldt (Mexico City), Jed Adcock (Wellington/Mexico City), Gary Ablett jnr (Sao Paulo), Jarryd Roughead (Sao Paulo), Bachar Houli (Sao Paulo), Jack Riewoldt (Toronto), Michael Johnson (Toronto)

And these would all be classified as unlikely. Though special props given to Daniel Wells (37 from 37 possible, 34 home & away, 3 finals) considering at the start of the 2012 season he was meant to have health issues.

Basically, Ebert needs a suspension/injury/serious drop in form to miss out. Round 9 shapes as game 50.

Purple 77

Interesting stats! You would think Ebert would get it, or at least get it at the same time as someone else. Well done to my man Daniel Wells  :D

Well, 17 rounds a year = 34 matches without finals....
