The REP round doesn't count.

The cap includes EVERY player's score in each of the 17 WXV matches.

Nige

Weird seeing our cap number so low, we're used to being on the opposite end. :P

@Memph, did you include captain bonuses and such?

Just doing a few calculations.

So in total teams scored 501,535 points this season.

Divide that by 18 and you get 27,863 points per team

11 of the 18 teams are above this line and 8 are below it.

Yup. With retirements and delistings though, I don't think anyone will have a problem getting under the cap

Over the cap however...

ossie85

Purps, who scored the most points across the 17 WXV rounds?

There's no requirement to go over the cap

clearly Goldy right?

averaged the most and played every single game.

Nobody would have came close. Fyfe missed a few and Pendles was alot lower average.

Surley if NDT get a priority pick than the dillos should too.

NDT averaged 101.12 points per game while Dillos only 103.12 points per game.

16th placed Cairo averaged 113 and that was with mass mass injuries so they are much better than that.
15th placed Rio averaged 131.88 and thats probably more cairo speed (perhaps better)

so there is about a 17+ point gap between Dillos and the other 16.

I could also argue that NDT had more injuries than Dillos so on paper the Dillos are actually the weakest squad in the comp.

When you look at averages (and im bumping up Cairo as they had probably the unluckiest injury year you can have)

it looks like this (just rough)

150
140
140
140
135
135
135
135
135
130
130
130
130
130
130
130*
103
101

that looks like there are two teams who deserve priority.

Alright, they can have Dublin's first round pick since you clearly don't deserve it according to your little hypothesis and disregard for the rules in place.

Buenos Aires do get a priority pick anyway. Just not before the first round. Yet.

Buenos Aires did this to themselves now they have to ride it out while Swanny is still being a gun. They can put their hand out for an early priority pick next year.

MajorLazer

I'll take about 7 priority picks, thanks.

I'm not completely sure what the rules are regarding priority picks but, I'm strongly in favour of not handing out a priority pick based on the results from one season.

As Hoz has pointed out teams like Cairo, and to a lesser extent Rio, can have a poor year due to injuries but, still have a pretty decent side. So giving them a priority pick in those circumstances is unfair in my opinion, especially to the teams who have been bad for a while (New Delhi) as it lessens the advantage the priority pick gives them.

I think the priority pick should be based on the amount of games you win over a cumulative two season period.

Yes, we have the case of Buenos Aires this year but, that's something that they need to take in to consideration when going for the rebuild. As meow has pointed out they could have kept Swan this year, had a gun captain option and still have traded him for something decent at the end of the year.

And, even so they get a Top 3 pick this year which is handy in their rebuild.

And, if they are poor again next year which is highly likely - then they will get the priority pick. And, if they are poor again the next year then they will get another (because they've still won less than X games over the last two years).
