Definitely, not playing that more defensive minded role that he has in recent years has let him step it up a bit. Iirc he was traded to us for Andrew Swallow before I came in as coach as well..

Yeah Swallow for Shiels was one of my best ever coups, however this season Shiels has really lifted and Swallow has plateaued since his achilles injury a couple of years back
