Makes me wish I didn't trade him out in BXVs.  :(

Just read that Chris Scott said Nakia Cockatoo is a chance to break into the Rd1 team having transitioned very well into AFL so far

Very happy to hear that, seeing as we used our first pick (11) on him :)

Thinking about allowing teams to trade next year's draft picks in the second trade period...

Just a thought
Love it.

Best Rookie Draft Picks

2012

http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,69202.0.html

The Top 10 Picks:

1. Dublin - Matthew Taberner --> 0 WXV matches
2. New York - Ben Richmond -->  0 WXV matches
3. Berlin - Mitch Clisby -->  1 WXV match
4. PNL - Xavier Richards -->  0 WXV matches
5. Cairo - Kyle Hartigan -->  0 WXV matches
6. Tokyo - Amos Frank -->  0 WXV matches

8. New Delhi - Lincoln McCarthy -->  0 WXV matches
9. London - Dane Rampe -->  18 WXV matches
10. Seoul - Cameron Hitchcock -->  0 WXV matches

Think we have a clear winner here! London's Dane Rampe looks a star from the top 10 pick, amongst 9 busts.

In fact, these are the only Rookie listed players from 2012 to play games:

D Rampe   18
M Blicavs   5
T Nicholls   4
A Cornelius   4

C Shenton   1
B Wilson   1
M Clisby   1
S Tunbridge   1
D Minchington   1

They've had much more success in the reserves though:

Amazing work as usual Ossie, I feel like Taberner wont turn out to be a bust. He was almost a premiership player with him a 50/50 to be picked for the Dublin 2014 Grand final squad.

Re: trading future picks

Seems pretty split right now:

Yay: Mexico City, Moscow, Pacific, Cape Town

Nay: Cairo, Berlin, New York

So I don't think we will do it...

Hellopplz

If it's just the following season then can experiment with it. But also got to make sure the strong teams just don't get stronger by trading away picks, but can certainly help lower teams be able to build on their squad.

There would still be a points cap so teams like Dublin and PNL won't be able to go shopping on credit.

What about list sizes though? Would trades have to be 1-for-1 or could some teams have 38 and others 42?

Toga

I don't mind the idea of trading future picks!

Hellopplz

Forgot about the points cap, fair point there.

Reckon will be 1 for 1 + pick, but will be tough now that the PSD/Rookie draft have been/being completed. Had it been say a player for a future pick, could have used a draft in order for the team to get back up to list size. But as the drafts are being done now, not sure how it'll work without it being player for player + pick.

Expecting this guy to improve his tally of senior games in 2015 at Beijing 8) Shenton also a chance down back while some of our younger boys develop a bit more!

Wasn't a superb first season for him as it was hard to break into the PA team for most of the year, but it's good to hear that he rates as one of the better rookies from last year :) Should be a fwd as well next year so could get a few more games form permitting!

Future picks would be excluded from the 1 to 1: (So it would be Smith + First Round for Jones)

BUT, on that tangent... Would a 'list' cap be better than a points cap? I.e. this year it would have seen Dublin only allowed to have 35 players and Pacific 53....
