I like riptide, but I absolutely love the other stuff on Vance Joy's EP, really worth giving them a listen if you're into his stuff. Funnily enough he played VFL footy too with Werribee.

The sound they go for usually only comes from those 7 countries anyway.

Personally I like what Triple J does with its hottest 100. It brings out a decent amount of Australian talent while also looking somewhat abroad

If the 2 of you actually understood (and probably even read) what he said then you are both way off.  He is not saying that JJJ needs to be a pub rock station - it needs to be a station to support local AUSTRALIAN music of all genres

He is saying that JJJ is just another commercial radio station catering to record labels whims - which is being funded by the Australian Taxpayer (you and me)
