So after a few hours of tinkering around with some ideas and players I have manged to come up with this team

DEF: J.McVeigh, S.Mitchell, J.Grimes, M.Sucking, K.Kolodashnij, L.Mcdonald, (M. Fuller, J. Battersby)

MID: G.Ablett, S.Pendlebury, K.Jack, J.Ziebell, D.Beams, D.Thomas, J.Martin, V.Michie (M.Honeychurch, J.Aish)

RUC: B.Grundy, A. Sandilands, R.Lobb, T.Nankervis

FWD: P.Dangerfied, C.Wingard, D.Martin, M.Clark, N.Bock J.Billings (L.Taylor, D.Garlett)

Fairly standard I know but it is my first draft and I'm sure there will be a few changes between now and Rd 1

good team.

DEF - McVeigh/Mitchell is a great D1-2 combo. super strong.
Grimes should increase his avg. Suckling is a must.
Good rookie choices, just make sure they'll play weekly.

MID - GAJ/Pendles, VERY nice. KJack & Ziebell are Excellent PODs.
KJack tonned up 14 times and went under 70 only once.
Ziebell tonned up 6 times, and went under 70 only twice.
Beams/daisy is must.
all 4 should increase their avg's 10-15.
6 Premo mids, very nice.

RUC - Grundy/Sandi both should increase in value.

FWD - wow, go hard mate. 3 of the best FWDs IMO. Nice.
Clarke/Bock both risky but could pay off BIG TIME.

Check out and rate my team.

Thanks a lot for the feedback mate :) Yeah i just went for player that were real performers last year and should hopefully backup their form as well as some players that I think still have a bit to give. As far as the rookies go i'm not too sure which ones will break into their teams 22 but from all the reports I've read the rooks I've chosen seem pretty good  8)

to me the biggst gamble to take for this season is playing the grundy/sandi/hmac/longer as r1 and r2 ...... if it pays off i think i will be a major advantage ... something i seriously considering

likewise the gamble of playing 2 defensive rookies, if it works out its golden

the mids represent the big advantage if this all works out asu have essentially 6 premos, the best rookie available and then game time from michie, aish (still think ellis should be here instead of one of them mate)

personally think there will be better and cheaper rookie options than billings - kersten, lennon

Bachar14

Thanks mate, I am actually running short on cash with only 8k left so will definitely make those changes if it means that I will be able to free up some extra cash.

GoLions

Think defence might be a bit weak, probably want Suckling at D5 with the limited amount of rookies in defence
Probably gone too strong in mids, as this is where most of your cash will be made. Need 5 rookies IMO. Would look at maybe trading one of Jack or Ziebell to a Claye Beams or someone else who should get regular games
Not a fan of Grundy but a lot of people are starting him so if it backfires you won't fall behind too much (hopefully)
Forwards look good

have made a few changes but am still not sure about a few things, I now think i have gone too strong in the MID when I should be strengthening my DEF  :o

MID: G.Ablett, S.Pendlebury, K.Jack, D.Beams, M.Murphy, J.Martin, C.Beams, L.McDonald (J.O'Rourke, M.Honeychurch)

RUC: N.Naitanui, A.Sandilands (T.Nankervis, F.Thurlow)

FWD: P.Dangerfield, D. Martin, L.Franklin, M.Clark, A. Fasolo, D.Garlett (J.Impey, L.Taylor)

Def: Overall pretty good, but Scharenberg is injured and won't be right to go round 1.  There is some talk that he may not be playing until closer to mid season.
Mid:  Strong.  Can't fault.  I like McDonald in your mid line for the dpp link.  Just make sure he has good js.
Ruc:  If they stay fit you are solid, but just bare in mind you've picked two rucks with a history of injury.
Fwd:  Pretty standard.  Not sure on the Fasolo selection as to whether he can regularly hold a spot in the 22, and his SC scoring capability.  Watch him NAB Cup.  Clark is a good selection if he stays fit, however remember he is injury prone and has been playing as a stay at home forward in a weak side.

Def: I agree about the Scharenberg pick won't play early onso if you want another rookie there it has to be either Mcdonald or Laidler i I prefer you only go for one as 2 is a risk.Houl is the POD here.
Mids: Very Strong midfield with a good selection of  mids including Rookies
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Pretty good be interesting to see how long clark stays on the field before getting reinjured

This team needs adjustment in defence will need another defender give it 7/10

M.Murphy -> D.Thomas
M.Scharenberg -> D. Swallow
