Having trouble deciding out of this two.
Pav is getting old which I believe may effect his scoring ability slightly but not sure about buddy as he and tippett will be playing aside each other

Buddy every single day of the week.

Buddy is in his prime and no longer has the contract issues hanging over his head and also has the best midfield in the comp feeding him the ball. You can bank on him to get back to his 100 + average.

Pav is 32 years old and in the twilight of his career. He will not average 100 + this year.

_wato

Yeah Franklin mate for sure.

However don't underestimate Pavlich, think he will have a fairly decent year.

NRoo is a similar age and look what he did this year ;)
I'd still pick Buddy over him but I'd also try get both in

Yeah N Roo was 30 at the start of last year though not 32. I reckon that is a fairly big difference.

There's only one year between them. Pav is born on the 31st of December so he'll be 31 for most of the year not 32. I agree age is a concern but he's definitely not to be written off.
Pav has been one of the best and most durable fantasy fwds of this generation

Pav was born on December 31 1981. Therefore he is 32 right now and will be 32 for the entire season.

All good mate. Will be interesting to see how Pav goes this year.

No question that he has been an SC god over the years and i've had him in my team most years. Just won't be going with him this year.

I see much more upside with a player like Gunston or Darling at a similar price.

ubeaut

Pav scored best as a KPP which he will be this season. He scored 100s from this position when Freo were at the other end of the ladder. I don't see how age will have much to do with anything if he's not required to go in the guts.

He is 1 of the most underated players in the comp (probably cos he's not Victorian) how many other KPP forwards can play midfield as well? He is value with a great midfield giving him the ball and a great forward line locking it in there.

SydneyRox

Buddy has nine years left in him!! :P

So he hasnt even peaked yet!!

Get on!

GoLions

Pav for me, think he might go top 5 forwards by the end of the year

_wato

Finally, more people agreeing with my thoughts that Pavlich will become a top 6 forward.

If he can play a full season it's totally possibly, especially with may of the previous "forwards" no longer being listed as such (eg Bartel, Walker, Stevie J). With that said, I think there will still be very stiff competition for him to be top 6 - Danger, Dustmart, Buddy, Boomer, NRoo, all in with a good shot. Then the various up and comers, like Roughy, Wingard, Hoff, even the likes of Cloke and Dixon. Plus other previously great/injured/form finding players - Chappy, Zorko, Tex. Will be a tight field...

All that said though, For that sort of money you really have to take the punt on Superpav...

mark621

pav, hes a great mark, and generally a great kick (last years GF would make you think otherwise)
buddy has tippet, goodes, pyke trying to rest up there prob, but i have a feeling im missing a big name up forward

pav we know what to expect, anywhere around the 90-100ppg most weeks. but i think buddy being a lock wont be known till round 1
