TOMMY Walsh says the seriousness of his hamstring injury has left him uncertain about his AFL future as the Sydney Swan contemplates a return home to Ireland and Gaelic football.

The 25-year-old Irishman has made just five senior appearances in two years in Sydney, playing two games for the Swans last year before tearing his hamstring off the bone in a horrific setback.

Off contract at the end of 2014, Walsh's first wish is to remain with the Swans, while he would also consider continuing his AFL journey with another club.

My Chumps

Can't see him getting any game now that we've got Tippet and Franklin either. Thought he was going to be a star when he first came to us. Ah well, so it goes.

Capper

yeah sounds like he is a bit home sick as well. It was reported back in September last year in irelnad that he may come home

Tabs says: Kicked 20 goals on 6 games with donuts in 2 of them. Played most of his time in the 2s up front but also spent some time down back hen some height was required. Was playing ok as well before ripping his hamstring off the bone against the Bombers. Have just read this article and it looks like Walsh will be returning back to Ireland if the Swans dont renew his contract at the end of 2014. To be honest i don't see the Swans renewing his contract and i think that he wants to return to Ireland and not get a new contract from the Swans. With the addition of Buddy, Walsh tales a further step down the depth chart up front. He is not relevant and shouldn't even be a depth player on XV lists as it sounds like he wants to head home. If he dos play in the 1s in 2014, it will be sporadically.
