Pendles to become captain in 2014?

Just read on Facebook that Pendles will be announced as captain of the Pies in the next week or so. Any truth to this, or just a rumour? Personally, I hope it's true, one of my favourite players in the league and I think he'd do really well.

Well overdue. Should have been made captain years ago.
Won't effect his fantasy scoring. He's too classy

flower. Now he has captaincy, teams are going to be like- hey, we should tag this guy instead of maxwell.

his numbers are going to drop. However, Maxwell is now a lock.

Flower yes. I've wanted this to happen for so so long.

Hopefully now we realise how much of a spud player Maxwell is and we drop him out of the team. I've tried every excuse and just had to plonk him on the bench in my best starting 22, but as he's not captain he can go.

Probably knows a lot as being the skip and respect has been earned far and wise so he won't get cut, but a few ordinary games may change this.

Maxwell is the back of centre general. No Heater to yell directions this year. Maxwell wont be dropped... 8)

Deserves it, great player and will be a good skipper. I think Fantasy wise he will improve because he strikes me as someone who will want to lead by example. :)

It sounds reasonable, Penldes is their best player and leader now.
Also, now that Maxwell isn't captain is he a lock in their 22? I still think he gets a spot, but he's not locked in.

With Shaw departing would expect Maxwell to be in the 22 each week as he is required to organise defence.
