Lions will beat Richmond this year. Rocky will out do Cotchspud, Redden is better than Deledio, Zorko is better than martin, Raines is better than Jackson and Luey is better than Maric.

Bloody hell Rich, you're very confident hahah. Only one of those I think is true ;)

Confident or stupid?  :-X  :P

Yeah you're probably right, bit stupid of him Quinny, hahaha

Ringo

Even as a Brisbane supporter bit of outlandish claim - Think Rocky will probably be in front of Cotchin (happy to take that one on Quinny if you like) and Berger and Maric will be very close.

Can not see raines being in Brisbane's best 22 each week. And whilst Reddan and Zorko will improve can not see either shading Lids (who I think is better value than Cotch) or Dusty.

Yeah Rockliff will be in front of Cotchin too I think mate. Berger edges Maric I think, especially this year with Hampson, Vickery etc

No way with Redden and Zorko, Dusty and Lids by a mile. Redden is an up and comer though, so he could improve out of sight. Raines won't be best 22 either I don't think.

I'm not sure if he was talking about in a single game or for the season. In a game anything can happen, but I would still be very confident that we would beat Brisbane 9 times out of 10.

To be honest they are all pretty even match ups IMO and I wouldn't be surprised to see Rocky have a better season than Cotchin so won't be betting on that one. The stupidity is that he labelled each player "better" than the other like it's no contest and an obvious choice lol. I would take the Richmond player in every instance apart from the ruck I would rather Berger (think we are yet to see his best)
Fact of the matter is though that even if all of those Brisbane players had a better game than the Tigers he listed, I would still expect Richmond to win the game. We showed all of last year that we certainly don't rely on just the top end talent to get the job done, if our middle ranked players stepped up we won the game. Brisbane don't have that depth at this stage, or enough fire power up forward to kick a winning score against our defence.

Thanks Quinny and tbh agree with everything you said apart from depth which we have plenty of in mids and defence and ruck but lacking forward as you said. However that is being worked on with recruitment and we should have coverage there pretty quickly.  In saying that forawrd stocks are starting to look good with Brown playing at FF, Lisle, Paparone, Paine, Close, Freeman and a resting ruckman there is promise there and then add the small forwards of Zorko and Green,  Add Staker. McStay and Taylor who can play both ends looking good for future,

Imo we will more than match Richmond within the next 2 seasons.

When I say depth I more meant the quality of player in the 22. Richmonds bottom 6 players being a lot stronger than that of Brisbanes bottom 6, mainly because Brisbanes are first and second year kids. If Brisbanes top players don't play well, Brisbane get smacked where as Richmond are still capable of winning without our best players playing well. That's just where the 2 sides are at though.
