so Nightcrawler was flowering unreal. Pretty speechless after that one. Gyllenhall is unbelievable in it. Can't believe he's been completely snubbed by the Oscars, not even getting a nomination.

I mean this was such an interesting character portrayal. So flowering enthralling throughout.
9.0/10

Also watched:
Life Aquatic Steve Zissou: 7.5/10
Frank: 7.7/10

Finally got around to watching The Imitation Game tonight. Really enjoyed it and found is very interesting

Watched American Sniper the other day, enjoyed the movie as Bradley Cooper was great in his portrayal of Chris Kyle, although a few things annoyed me such as the insinuation that the Iraq war was caused by 9/11.

Not directly, but the motivations for it even now are fairly unclear. You can't deny that Iraq's response following the attacks, their relationship with al Qaeda and endorsement or terrorist activity contributed to the coalition attack.

Aside from that the attacks are an easy and recognisable event that is associated with Afghanistan and Iraq and will quickly give the viewer an indication of the current point of time in the film, far moreso than any alternative I can think of.

Watched Nightcrawler based on MC's review, was good!

Watched Top Five last night

I enjoyed it, but I'm a big Chris Rock fan. The scene with DMX cracked me up  ;D

Watched it myself with friend since promised her. Enjoyed it as well, Cumberbatch was great in it. Such a sad way for it to end in real life but it was over 50 years ago :(.

Haha my thoughts as well. Somehow it was a really good movie, but I have no idea how

So it was the wifes choice for a movie last night.
Two Night Stand.

Not a huge fan of romcoms but i don't hate em either and TBH this one wasn't bad.
Ok movie to pass the time. Cute in parts and had a giggle here and there.

6.5/10

Cookie Monster

If you like true stories/inspirational/world changing movies. Then this is for you.

42.

The true story of Jackie Robinson.

The first ever African-American Major League Baseball player ever.

The movie shows from when he was signed and how in just a few year period peoples opinions on African-American people changed. Through one signing.

For me it's up there as one of my favourite movies alongside Coach Carter.

Give it a watch.

My Chumps

Recently watched...

Mr Turner - 7.7
Wish I Was Here - 5.5
2001: A Space Odyssey - 7.5

Felt cheated by 2001... And hour and a half of some of the best film I've ever seen, then wilted in the final act into an incomprehensible, self-indulgent mess, with no discernible message or method.

Yeah. Really good

Watched Birdman in cinemas yesterday and thought it was incredible. The cinematography is absolutely exceptional, but I am already an absolute sucker for well shot long-takes (Pulp Fiction, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gun Crazy etc) and the film of course completely caters to that. Actually really enjoyed the surrealism/blurred reality too, the themes were dense and occasionally hard to follow but it was a really stellar film.

Birdman: 9.5

Also:
The Graduate: 9.2
Fury: 6.5

I give a lot of 9's...
