POSSIBLE STAR WARS SPOILERS

Went and saw Rogue One today - definitely worth the year wait, very good and better than the Force Awakens. The lack of character development (had a little development for a ton of characters but nothing really centric for any one character) was a downside, as was GOAT Vader only having 2 scenes (although the second was pretty flowering awesome), but the rest of the movie was very good. Ben Mendelsohn was fantastic, with a few good supporting roles such as Alan Tudyk as a robot, but the two main roles (Felicity Jones and Diego Luna) were a let-down for me. I loved the CGI Peter Cushing tho, very nice touch.

Overall I'd say 9/10, my third favourite movie of the year behind the Nice Guys and the Conjuring 2 (more time to reflect on it will help it though)
Saw it last night. Went in with few expectations as perceived it as more of a spin off than the real thing but came out happy enough. Held its own and sits in nicely as Star Wars 3.5 in the series of films. Alan Tudyk's K2SO was a highlight for me. A new favourite droid has arrived. Mendelssohn was great but thought Forest Whitaker's part was odd. 8/10 Will see it again.

If you have Netflix and haven't watched Spectral yet, do yourself a favour and get onto it.  Better than half the action/sci fi stuff popping up in cinemas recently.

Over the last 2 days have watched
Bad Moms - I liked it
Sully - Was really good
Masterminds - Was alright, had some funny bits in it
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children - Liked it as well
War Dogs - Need to finish watching it as had some sleep to catch up on so missed half of it but what I saw was really good

And watched Fantastic Beasts last week and really liked that as well

Watched a few movies as I downed my Christmas chocolates...
The Brothers Grimsby - had the odd chuckle... stupid and funny... will watch it again... some memorable scenes.
In the Heart of the Sea - was okay... not one of Ron Howard's best films... 7/10
Daddy's Home - funny in parts but disappointing really... expected more.
Sing... went to the movies today with the younger family members and thought it'd be shower but was pleasantly surprised. The music made the film for me but the animated characters were great too. Seth MacFarlane and Reese Witherspoon are wonderfully talented performers. 9/10... with music that caters to all tastes I'm sure there's something in it for everyone. A kids movie but worth seeing.

Watched Life on the Line on DVD last night... In the vein of Kevin Costner's Coastguard and Bruce Willis' Armageddon with John Travolta in the lead role here. Predictable and meh, nah.

Eye in the sky with Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and Alan Rickman was awesome.

Sully - 7/10
Deepwater Horizon - 7/10
Rogue One - 7.5/10
Sausage Party - 6/10
Storks - 7/10
The Monster - 7/10 (super emotional movie about addiction and abuse...that happens to have a monster on the loose)
The Girl on the Train - 8/10
31 - 3/10 (easily Rob Zombies worst effort)
Don't Breathe - 7.5/10 (when in expecting something, got something completely different, nice little horror twist along te lines of Hush)

agreed on 31. such a piss poor effort. I love all Rob Zombie's movies, so I went in to it thinking it was gonna be awesome, but it was just a steaming pile of shower

Yeah, I was keen on it, then watching it I was like, wtf is this turd of a movie!  Pretty sure it was partly crowd funded with Zombie promising to release an uncut version to those that helped fund it, but has basically not spoken about this release now and people are pissed...don't think it will make the movie any better, except please the hardcore gore fans as I think it's even more over the top than the theatrical release.

it just seemed like he put no thought in it. like he didn't really care about it sorta thing. even if it there was more gore and people getting flowered up it still wouldn't have done anything for me (and I love me some gore) because... I dunno how to explain it other than it just didn't feel like he cared (that could be taken waaaaay out of context)

Watched Passengers in Gold Lounge last night.  I was thoroughly impressed with it, great story, nice twists, Pratt and Lawrence did great to hold the movie up by themselves with a few short cameos.  Definitely recommend,  Bit of Sci Fi, Comedy, Drama and Romance all rolled into one. 8/10

Woman in Gold, Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds 10/10 Brilliant movie
Dirty Grandpa, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron 8/10 Good for a laugh
Dad's Army, Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones 4/10 Don't bother
The Gambler, Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman 8/10 Appealed to the gambler in me, good story... think I'll have to see the original now
Spotlight, Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams 9/10 Great movie
Trumbo, Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane 8/10 Very good
Cut Bank, Liam Hemsworth, John Malcovich, 6/10
10 Cloverfield Lane, John Goodman, 1/10 Stupid, complete waste of time.
Time out of mind, Richard Gere, 3/10 Acting was great to say nothing happens in the whole film...running time 86 minutes but only need to watch the first 10 as that is essentially what happens in the whole film anyway, plus it'd be enough for most people... was for the mrs and I'm jealous now that I watched it all.

Watched The Accountant today

One of the best movies I have seen in recent memory
