Calling it now, Buddy won't be a top 5 forward.

Big calll. Thoughts behind it? Sydneys game plan? Ground size?

There's too many good players at Sydney for him to average high enough. Jack, JPK, McVeigh, Hannebery, TMitch, Goodes when he plays, Malceski, Tippett. Who's points does Buddy steal?

In 2011 Buddy went 110. Others went...
Mitchell 113
Hodge 106
Birchall 94
Roughead 101
Rioli 99
Sewell 95
Lewis 90
Suckling 90

Compared to the guys listed from this year
Jack 109
JPK 105
McVeigh 105
Hannebery 95
TMitch 86
Goodes 85 (can be a 95+ player easily though)
Malceski 90
Tippett 90

Not much difference there

GoLions

Except for Eski and possibly McVeigh, I think all those guys will improve. Tippett's average will probably be more dependent on Buddies. Jack probably should've gone a bit better IMO, JPK went 115+ year before (i think...?), Hanners dropped off after a great start and should only improve this year and bring his average to 100+, TMitch should improve a lot as last year was his first year, like you said Goodes can easily go 95+ (although probably won't play all games).
And if I were a Swans player and had the option of passing the ball to Buddy or Tippett, I'd kick it to Tippett 9 times out of 10. Just my opinion though, I don't rate Buddy very highly in the forward line. He'll get quite a few of his points running up the ground, but don't think he'll get as many opportunities to do that in comparison to when he was at the Hawks.

Buddy has shown he can score well in a team full of players scoring well (as shown above). Plus he has "competed" with Roughy in a forward line for many years.

Don't forget we are talking about the best forward of our generation. He is the last player to kick over 100 goals in a season and with the exception of this year, where he actually battled with knee soreness, has average 115, 110, 107 in his last 3 years prior. If I was a Swans player I would want to do whats best for the team. And if Buddy is roaming the fwd line and was an option I would definitely be kicking it to him. Tippett isn't even in the same class as Buddy.

GoLions

My loss if he kills it, I just don't see him averaging over 95. If he does, someone else's score is going to take a big hit you would think.

And regarding my 2nd point from before, from what I've seen, Tippett is a better mark and a more accurate kick. Of course Buddy is going to kick 100+ goals when he has like 200 shots (would be interested to know how many he actually had, think it was 170 scoring shots or thereabouts?)

The_Captain

Dw bout Buddy. he is good enough to make his own points. Won't need to steal them off anyway. He will get them from kicking bags!!!

SC has a cap though. Points have to come from someone, and it's not like he's replacing someone who previously averaged 110.

Haha yeah if it wasn't for the cap then 100% I would be backing him to do as well as he did at the Hawks, but at Sydney and with the points cap in SC I struggle seeing him going triple figures. If he kills it in the first half of the season then of course I'd bring him in, but just not sold on him yet. Time will tell.

Hmm interesting. Whats the cap at like 2500. How do they work it out if a team goes over? Do they just divide everyones score by an equal percentage ?

The total scores of all players in the match (so from both teams) has to be around 3300. So if a match doesn't reach that, scores get scaled up, and if it goes over, scores get scaled down.
