I am starting a discussion on some of our lesser known players to see what you guys think of their chances this season. Mitch is one of those players where critics say every season he is at the cross roads of his career. He has had appalling luck with injury and this is why I think they have persevered with him this long, because the coaches see what he is capable of. He is 196cm and 92kg, Tom Lonergan is 197/93.
My belief is that if he gets through pre-season and has a good run his confidence will improve and we may have another option at CHF. Nathan Vardy is penciled in for that position but I think a fit and confident Mitch Brown may challenge for it. His size makes him a key position player or a support ruckman. If he gets a fair go this season he can cement a position by the end of the season.

We have to start getting some games into this guy

He destroys it at VFL level. Clearly has stack of talent, but he has shown absolutely zero at AFL. On his final legs at the club unless he can establish himself in 2014 I believe.

As I said, Mitch has been on a knifes edge for the last couple of seasons if you think about it. he has undeniable ability. He'd have to be in contention for Pod's position you would think. See if they play him at CHF in the pre season or keep him on the back line. If he plays up to his hype or ability he and Tommahawk would be a very useful tall forward setup.

Oh yeh no doubt. Well he of course began as a forward, but they've been grooming him as a defender. I surely think Walker and Kersten are in line fir Pods spot, but yeh heaps of talent, I'm not sure he is up to AFL standard, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Sadly I have to agree. He will have to do something special this season to keep his place

I have him in my Asian XVs team so I hope he gets a chance and takes it this year
