Thanks for looking, all thoughts, comments and criticisms are welcome.
Link in your own team pic if you'd like my opinion.
Cheers

it is a very good team but the forward line looks very very very weak so you may have to downgrade some players in other positions to make up for it

WizzFizz

Midfield defence and Ruck is very good but the forward line is lacking imo.

Danger is a lock in the fwd so maybe downgrade a def/ mid

Cheers guys, appreciate it. Yea forwards are super weak... just wasn't too enthused by the options.
Danger is currently upgrade target #1, reason I didn't start him being that he always kicks off seasons quite slow then gears up around round 8 and kicks arse.
I haven't taken a look at the draw yet, but maybe should put him in for another of my premos with a tough starting draw?

 :)
Not a bad team mate. Does't matter a damn if a particular line is weak. The only thing that matters is that you pick the highest scoring players available for the dollars you have and the best up and comers out of the cheapies. Best of luck and enjoy.   ;)

nperera95

Def: solid defense. Interesting choice with shoeonmakets.
Mid: strong mid. Like the choices of Stevens and Jack
Rucks: Standard ruck
Fwds: is pretty weak. Not sure with Bock or McBean.

Overall: You have a pretty good side here but your forwards are too weak. I'd probably get rid of shoeonmakers for Kade Kolojad....(forget the spelling. Will give you more cash to play with. Perhaps could get downgrade Stevens or Jack (most probably Jack as he would be competing against JPK, Hannebery, McVeigh, etc) to someone like D.Beams. Could also downgrade Longer to a rookie for more money. Then use the money to upgrade the forward. But for a first attempt, you have done well! :D

Agree with nperera, Longer is a lot of cash to have on the bench, and Beams is a midfield must at his price. J.Steven is a nice POD but I also haven't sen KJack in too many teams. Haven't checked your bye structure but I would downgrade Longer to a rookie and one of Steven/Jack to Beams to invest more up front. Ok if you don't want to start with Danger but that's overall a very weak fwd line. McBean didn't get a game last year so to have him as your starting F5 is crazy IMO. Don't think he is tigers best 22 by a way. Like Karny and Bock but they should be F4/5 at best, and I really don't think Parker is strong enough to be an F2. Won't be a top 6 fwd by end of season. Agree with sabertooth that it doesn't really matter if you have a weak line if you're making up points elsewhere but you need to think about maximising rookie price increases, and you always want a full starting team - I think your forward line will attract donuts as it is.

Not a bad start but a redistribution of wealth needed ;) Would also consider downgrading a back and swapping Schoen to Suckling, again another steal at his price...

Ringo

Most comments I agree with and with the prices this year it is going to be hard to get the team structure we want so we have to do our best to get the bets that is possible and because of this invariably we may have a weak line.

If worried about rucks maybe downgrade Longer to Thurlow or Brown and bring in Dixon to forward line. Their are other R/F such as Hale Bellchambers Fitzpatrick McKernan to consider but I prefer to Dixon.

This will improve forward line as well.

benno123

I'd downgrade longer for a start. Then 1 or 2 of your mids to beams, Murphy, Thomas, or others around that $500K or less mark. Then 1 or 2 of your backs to sub 500K players. Could easily help you get $400 to $600K+ to beef up your forwards. Good luck mate.

johnnytheboy1

Def: Downgrade Schoenmakers to Sucling, apart from that defence is strong with 4 good premiums
Mids: Maybe downgrade Steven to Beams. Otherwise you have a strong midfield
Rucks: Standard but would downgrade Longer to a cheap DPP player e.g Brown or Thurlow
Fwds: Far too weak would replace  Parker with Dangerfield   & Mcbean with Lennon Would look at getting Dixon in but you will need more cash to do this.

Overall Team in solid in most areas but falls down up forward only give it a 7/10

here's the newest thought, still likely to change many more time.
Thoughts/ Strategies:

- Dangerfield as first upgrade option after round 8 bye (backing him to have another slow start)
- Changing daily between murphy and beams - with murphy at the mo due to better history and bye
- rookies subject to change, but liking my slightly more expensive rooks.
- Realise there is not much value in Daniher at his price, but likely to spend more time rucking and feel like taking a punt. Hopefully upgrade to danger round 9.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I'll start by saying I'm far from an expert, but ...

You have picked several DDP's that can swap from the back line or the fwd line into the mid field (and one ruck/fwd) but you haven't put anyone in the midfiled that you can swap out.  I would have thought you are better placed if you move one or two from each into the mid so you can then enjoy the flexibility they provide.

Good luck

cheers maygs, but not too stressed about dpps at this stage, i'm happy to trade for flexibility later on.

DaveElNacho

Yeah don't worry about the DPPs at this stage mate. You'll be able to do some cheeky trade and switches later which will give you DPP links.

When I first look at your team I feel like the midfield is too strong. You could definitely afford to turn one of those premos into a rookie. This will allow you to spend some cash in the fwd/back. There are too many good rookies in the mids as opposed to the other lines. Makes it risky to start with more than 1 rookie on field in the fwd/back. Already it looks like all of your fwd rookies have big question marks over them playing..
Just food for thought.
(Also I'd prob only pick 2 out of Martin, Beams, Polec and Ellis. At the very most 3. That's too much money sitting on your bench when there's players like Dunstan or Nick Robertson for cheaper.)

Otherwise I can see why you picked the players that you did. Really like your Dangerfield tactic. I was actually thinking of doing it myself until I realised that I don't like many of the other forwards haha.
Also, personally I went Beams over Murphy. Not sure that Murphy can handle a tag yet.. whereas all signs seem to point to Beams returning to 2012 form.
