Lazy Sunday, Sitting on the couch, Aussies going 5-0 in the ashes, doing supercoach research... doesn't get much better then this!

Mitchell, Hanley, Swallow, Suckling, Kolodjashnij, McDonald (Kolodjashnij, Fuller)

Pendlebury, Selwood, Watson, Fyfe, Murphy, Thomas, Martin, Ellis (Dunstan, O'Rourke)

Lobbe, Sandilands (Brown, Nankervis)

Dangerfield, Martin, Dixon, Caddy, Clark, Kertsen (Taylor, Gartlett)

$2,100

Up to about Version 5, think this is my best side so far. Balanced in all positions, mix of rookies, premiums, breakout contenders, 2013 under performers, as well as a solid bye structure and plan.

Thoughts/feedback/advice/rates will be great, will return the favour and take a look at your squad, cheers :)

mate i would love to be able to field this team

mainly because u have 9 starting midfielders lol

benno123

Haha yeah just realised the mistake and edited it, would love to have 9 haha

eaglesman

i think mainly we are all waiting to see if it is going to possible to start 2 rookie defenders

dayne beams will beat marc murphy

solid rucks

I am also waiting to see if we can justify starting kersten on field ... if we can that will be great for our other lines
obviously a watch on clark also

benno123

Cheers eaglesman. Difficult this time of year to know what rookies will play, structure may change depending on who plays round 1.  Still tossing up between beam and Murphy, click of a button can easily change it to either one, just a matter of deciding who.

Good Sollid team there Benno123

I rate your team as follows

Backs: Great Backs i like the Swallow expect a big year from him.
Mids: Nat Fyfe is the complete package will score highly. As for the Murphy pick if you wantbeams go with him but you would need to downgrade someone
Ruckss: I like the Pick of Lobbe i think he will do great this year
Fwds: This is where you get the money to update and get beams for your Mids i would look at downgrading Clark to a rookie who might play a few games early.  I give this team an 8/10

BACKS Solid mate apart from fielding 2 rookies. The defender rookie pool is looking pretty thin this year. I would look to upgrade one of them.

MIDS are very very strong. Love the Murphy and Thomas picks, they are great value. Fyfe will be a good POD and Watson is also underpriced. As strong as this line is, this is where i would downgrade and look for cash

RUCKS Like Sandi, he represents great value. I'm not sure on Lobbe. It will be interesting to see if he can be an R1/R2 for a whole year. He certainly has the ability.

FWDS Danger and Martin will be solid picks. Love the Caddy pick as well, I currently have him. Overall a pretty solid fwd line

Thanks for the feedback guys. Rookies will play a huge role in final structure. My forward line has hardly changed and I'm really liking it, rucks are pretty solid I think. So if not many back rookies get a game I'll need to change up my mids and backline. Selwood/Pendles will likely be locks on my side. Want at least one of Watson/Fyfe for the Round 10 bye, preferably Fyfe. Others I'm strongly considering in my mids are Shuey and Beams, as well as Murphy and Thomas. Thomas I like a lot if he's healthy due to being $160K cheaper then the others. So, I'll need to pick only One out of Watson, Shuey, Beams, Murphy and downgrade to a rookie, Michie? Then use that cash to upgrade my backline, probably replace J.Kolodjashnij that looks like the weakest link at this point, what are some suggestions? Will look something like...

Mitchell, Hanley, (Any suggestions?), Swallow, Suckling, Kolodjashnij (McDonald, Fuller)

Pendlebury, Selwood,  Fyfe, (One of Murphy, Beams, Watson,Shuey) Thomas, Martin, Michie, Ellis (Dunstan, O'Rourke)

What midfielder should I keep, and what back should I target? Cheers guys :)

how confident are u on caddy and kersten consistently getting the game time ????

grimes as a defender? i would be keeping beams

benno123

Very confident on caddy he is in for a huge year, Kersten will wait and see but I'm thinking he will get some opportunity, other options though if he doesn't.

i just cant see someone like caddy averaging much more than higgins and he is 80k less .. only issue is obviously higgins is so injury prone ... if he can play 8 rounds then he has done his job

He may very well end up being a dud, but at this stage I truly believe he is in for a big year at the cats and will breakout.

Speaking of duds... I'm now considering jack watts.... having him in either F/D and having a link with a possible floating donut F/D Tom Curran (NM). Thinking watts will improve greatly this year under roos, will have big attitude change, play stints in the mids and hopefully be used effectively. But his major selling point to me at the moment is his ability to then also cover my forwards and backs. He will add depth to both lines, and with rookies thin in both positions I think he may come in handy during the season. Also allows me to decide if I want to play either a forward or back rookie on the field. Has a handy round 10 bye as well, something I need in both positions.  Been doing some research on him and starting to consider, but not completely sold on him yet, especially after he burnt me last season, weighing up the pros and cons.

eaglesman

his price is just so awkward bro ... is still one on my radar but i just cant see myself picking him

+1

After Caddy's game in the Prelim I think we have seen a glimpse of his potential, and so has Chris Scott.  I'm betting he cemented his place in the Cats best 22.

benno123

Ever since he was named as a M/F, he has not be out of my side once. Will watch him in the nab cup/preseason, but he is actually very close to a lock for me. Only other players that have never left my side are Pendles, Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell...
