Honestly this seems far more reasonable :P

Does it round up or down though? Hopefully down :P

Definitely down. I think the rule should be times your age by 0.49, add 7 and round to the nearest whole number :P

Or maybe like, either your age minus 2, or if she's an 8 or higher.
