Tabs Predictions

2014 SC Average: 90

Tabs says: The $64,000 question is where does Reid play next year in the Swans lineup. With Tippett and now Buddy joining the lineup, Reid looks set to either join the tall forward line and help out in the ruck or play at CHB. A quad injury saw Reid subbed out in round 9 and then only played one more quarter for the year before another quad injury ruled him on for the year. Not much talk has made about Reid and pitching in with the 2nd ruck role at Sydney now Mumford has moved on. He is currently under priced but he would be a huge gamble if anyone is keen. I don't think he is fantasy relevant until we find out where the Swans play him. If they play him up front then he wont be a huge or consistent scorer each week, but its the same if he plays at the back. At this stage you cant even start him in with his injuries but he is young and at only 22 his time to shine will come. You would have to watch how and where he plays in the first couple of games, so he might be able to be considered as an upgrade target

Nice work Tabs. Yeah it's kinda hard to pick him not knowing where he'll play. I reckon down back he wouldn't score too badly. He'll take plenty of marks. If only he was a bit cheaper.

dmac07

Think 90 is about 20 points over the mark, as you mentioned, will be behind Tippet and Franklin as a fwd, so wont get a lot of goals, will be a 2nd ruck if he pinch hits, and has averaged 62, 59 and 58 the past three seasons. Maybe if he settles at CHB could get some improvement, but would take some time to get settled. An average of 70 allowing for some improvement is my prediction.

Ricochet

Listed as a fwd... Could play key defender... No thanks

I think Grundy and Teddles will play the key defenders rather than Reid

So if he plays defence he'll be a rebounding defender?

I would say so, also could play the extra guy behind the ball

Is his kicking precise enough to be a rebounder? I just didn't picture him in that role at all.

yes he is good by foot and the high is also an advantage. That is if he plays at CHB, still not sure where he plays

Vinny

Solid player but surely he won't go 90?

CHB is key defender though ???

Tabs I'm sensing a pattern of inflated predictions on your Sydney players lol

Yeah haha. Craig Bird, Tom Mitchell, Rohan, Parker all 90 average aswell as Reid. Jack at 120. Hanners 110.

Come on mate, great profiles but settle on the bias ;)

Int - Malceski (100), Reid (90), T.Mitchell (90), Bird (90)

umm no

HEY!! - Back off the Tabs!

Last years avg as per below

B - Smith (66), Richards (69), Johnson (0) (64 in 2012)
HB - Shaw (62), Grundy (64), McVeigh (106)
C - Parker (87), ROK (101), Hannebery (95)
HF - Jetta (62), Franklin (90), Rohan (32)
F - Goodes (84), Tippett (90), McGlynn (72)
Fol - Pyke(87), K.Jack (109), JPK (105)
Int - Malceski (91), Reid (58), T.Mitchell (86), Bird (73)

The only guys who Tabs has predicted to increase significantly

Rohan - Avg Last year 32 based on 3 games (1 sub) after long term injury - 90 Might be a stretch, but certainly will get up to 75+
Hannebery - a 15 point increase is a big jump, but not unrealistic. Played a couple of role games later in the season that effected his yearly avg. But pre bye last year he was at a 103 avg.
Tippett - a 20 point increase as the main focal point getting the 2nd or 3rd best defender is a good chance
Reid - If he plays in the Fwd Line like we expect, he will get the 4th defender instead of the 1st or 2nd he is used to. He is a good chance to dominate contested marks. 90 might be high but 80-85 is very real.

The others like Parker, Mitchell and Bird just need to hold this years avg without getting vested and they will reach Tabs picks.

So you dont think that Titch or Parker can average 90??

Bird IMO will move further fwd this year and will snag a few goals and scored a high of 138 in 2013. Average of 72 which included 3 games in the green vest.

Jack had an average of 109 in 2013 with a high of 146.

Dan Han increased his average by 13 points to 95, who is to say that he cant do the same in 2014?

Parker increase his average by 15 and can easily step up again.

Titch averged 85 with one game in a green vest and another when he went off before HT
