Hi mate, nice effort to start off with, here's my thoughts:

DEF: I would never personally pick Watts, ever. Also I doubt that Kade K is in the Suns best 22, leaving you with a certain donut.

MID: Great, but again an almost certain donut re: Dunstan/Morabito/O'Rourke

RUCK: Good work.

FWD: Surely you cant pick Higgins, it's a trap, every year. 2-3 donuts going on up forward here. You need to spread the budget a bit more evenly to cover your fwd line.

I hope this helps.

all these donuts you are projecting are purely based on not knowing which rookies will be named round 1, when i know that i will be able to make those changes.

DEF: most people have KK, and fuller and they are projected to play early as is cutler, not worried there

MID: personally not willing to cough up 200k for rookies if i dont have to so i will have to wait and see but i can surely find 3 rookies who will play round 1, not worried there either

Fwd: taylor will play, spencer white is projected to get early games, gartlett is a gun should play, JKH is a popular pick.

and higgins has everyone fooled. he was a 'trap' when everyone was picking him to be a breakout premo, and last year he played 3 games but before that he played 19, 18, 16, 17, 20 and always averaged around 80 points. for 250k he only has to play until the bye rounds

Nice overall with obvious rookies to be fine tuned.

My only comment is that you seem to be missing a couple of guys that are likely to be highest few scorers on their lines - def Mitchell and McVeigh / rucks Goldy and Minson and maybe NicNat / fwd Dusty SJ and Pav.

If you have a plan to get these type of guys in then fine, but it is hard to upgrade as these guys prob won't drop much in price meaning you will often need two trades to get them in if you don't start with them.

Re Higgins - geez I am tempted given rookie pricing this year.

Backline is a bit risky for mine. Maybe pick one of watts/swallow and try and get a Mitchell/mcveigh in.. Midfield looks good,Greene is an interesting POD, after a year playing mainly defence to work on his game, could go to the next level and breakout. Like the motlop pick up forward. A number of teams seem to be going longer at R3, I can understand why, but for me it's just way too much cash for an R3.

gday benno, the thing with longer at r 3 for me is as i have no premo ruck im taking a risk starting grundy and sandi together, bringing in longer who should take over major ruck duties brings that risk way down, if sandi goes down hurt longer is there, if grundy doesnt step up maybe longer will. i am expecting longer and grundy to score well, but having both eliminates the risk that one doesnt. also having nic nat sandi and 2 rooks, is the same price basically as grundy sandi longer and a rook

thanks for your opinions. what im trying to go for is value around the ground, last year picking the top players at the start i was burnt a few times, when the value players i was going to pick and decided against would have been the better option, buddy and maric for example, however the mids are reliable so i spent my big money on reliable mids and went for value around with the plan to only trade in the best of the best mitchell walker mcveigh in defence, fwd wait and see haha

I see what you are planning, but Mitchell and McVeigh are basically midfielders in terms of reliability.

              <80's    80's    90's   100 plus ppg
McVeigh    2        4        6      10
Mitchell      3        1        7      10

So both played 21 games and are rock solid.

Just love stats.

Did you know 83% of stats are made up on the spot?  ;)
