Training is very important, so this thread will hopefully give you some guidance on how to train certain players, senior and youth. It is mostly straightforward, which is handy, but someone that know what they are doing will get alot more out of their players than someone that doesn't.

Firstly, important to know how fast skills train, and what training regime affects what skills. This page in the Game Manual will do that for you.

The higher the division you are, the better you want your players to be. So there is no point in a Div 5 team training their 20yo's up to outstanding fielding, just like a Div 1 team should leave them on capable fielding. I'll go through some examples now:

This is a player in my affiliate team, which is only a couple of days old. He just popped in fielding as shown. As my academy level is reasonable, and I am in div 4 T20 and Div 5 SOD, I will likely take this guy to capable fielding, and then give him batting/tech to get him to outs/outs. It'll take about a season to get the batting pop, and the rest of this season (8 training sessions) to get the remaining fielding pops. So by the time he turns 23, i am expecting outs/outs with capable fielding, and capable endurance, as that will have popped along the way. By then I hope so be solidly in div 3, so another two fielding pops, then I'd go to spec/spec, then fitness/power.

Awkward player, tech is very high compared to the others. My plan is get the Batting to expert through All Rounder training, and then fielding one, then bowling until he hs spec/spec. This will take until midway through him being 25, after which I go straight to Fitness, as he'll be in my first team.

Alternatively, if I notice him struggling with fatgiue as he starts to play alot of games, then before I make the switch to bowling training, I will take his fitness straight to outstanding, which should take just under a season.
