Verdict: The ruck department is a very tricky one this year, plenty of good options, Shane is yet another ruck I will be heavily considering. Finished off the year very strongly and has a nice starting price. In the games he played in where the swans lost he still averaged 107 so I don't think the move to GWS will lower his average. At 27 he should be at the peak of his game, could average anywhere between 85 and 110.

It would be a massive risk but could really pay off.
I would like to know what Gws plan on doing with their ruck strategy. He won't be stand alone because I can't imagine they won't play Giles but just how much ruck work will he do?
Other issue I have is that he's never played a full season. Still, he's someone I'll be keeping an eye on

meow meow

I had him from round 1 until he broke his face. Scored like crap.
Comes back and scores how I expected him to score, only after I traded him out.

BANNED!

Holz

has the potentail to do a goldy, he is a good pick but yet im going Goldy and NN instead.  new club, injury problems too many question marks for me.

Goldy was always going to go up and he didnt move club or have any injury problems.

just not worth it.

Jroo

Considering him, but you're probably better of paying the little extra cash and getting a TRUE premium.

He is a proven scorer and like you say, potentially at his peak. But there is to many risks involved with the walking sausage eater for mine. I'll be option for Kreuzer or Nic Nat at this point.

Yeah cos Kreuzer and Nic-Nat are MUCH safer options I mean they NEVER get injured - haha ;D

+1

Have nic nat and mumford right now myself, cant bring myself to pay 600k for goldy. Mumford will be number 1 ruck, will be interesting too see what they do with giles tho. Have a feeling mumford, giles, patton, cameron and boyd makes the side too big and slow. So unless one turns into a defender will be hard for them to play all those guys at once.

one of my main rules.

awlays pick the player where the risk is injury but you know they can score, over the player with the risk in scoring.

If a gun like NN is injured get rid of him. If a guy is underperfoming than its tough to trade them out and your left with a underpeofrming players.

Yep, Sam Jacobs was a perfect example of that last year.

Capper

Nice write up speck but i dont see him averaging 100 whilst sharing the ruck duties with Giles.

Nige

I'll probably start him, just a matter of my other starting ruck.

Toga

What's GWS' lineup gonna be re: talls?

I'm expecting Mumford to play in the ruck with Cameron & Patton the lock in falls up front. And then one of Giles & Boyd to complete the forward line & back up Mummy in the ruck, not sure which one it will be though...

Capper

I think with the cap on the number of interchanges will hurt mummy this year and he will have to spend more time on the field, which will see he scores suffer
