Shaun Higgins - Western Bulldogs
Position: Forward
Fan Planner Price:$221,000
Bye: Round 9

2013 Average: 59
Tons: 0
2013 Games: 3

2012 Average: 79.5
2012 Unsubbed Average: 84.5 (17 unsubbed games)
Tons: 4
2012 Games: 19

Verdict: Higgins is very cheap (priced at around $220k) and he is one to keep an eye on for next year. Higgins has usually been a good scorer when he is on the park, however he is rarely on the park. The most games Higgins has played in a season is 20 games (back in 2007) and he has missed lots of games since making his debut in 2006, which will see him on the blacklist of many SuperCoachers. But seeing as Higgins is so cheap, you won't have to rely on him for the whole year and he will be used as a cash cow and potential keeper, if he keeps fit, but that's unlikely. I think he is worth the risk, if named round one, so watch him over the preseason, as there has been some talk around that the Bulldogs will ease him into the season and he may not make an appearance until round 3-4.

2014 Predicited Average: 75-80

Ricochet

Seriously considering now due to his low price
Nice writeup mate

Doggies midfield has developed to much without him so he won't get much time in their. Plus his body is made out of chalk. Pass

More than happy to take the risk. Praying he can stay on the park for 8 games or so, then offload him to a super premo forward

"super premo forward"  Don't think there are many of those. Premium maybe, but forwards look a bit light on this year.

Eh, you know what I mean. The top 5 or so highest averaging forwards.

Yeah this is my worry. Injuries aside, will he have the opportunity to score well anymore? Can't see him playing much mid time

He's every chance to start as the substitute every now and then and I will not be picking him based on that.

Because he'll fit the substitute role well, or simply as he's returning from injury?

A bit of both. We'll probably be tempted to manage him based on his history, and he is the type of sub who could get 12 possessions and a goal in 1.5 quarters.

Plus Grant, Dickson, Gia, Dahlhaus and Stringer all have claims to starting positions in the forward line, and 6 into 4 doesn't fit.

Ziplock

So wait, what mids do you have playing in HF then (considering that there are 6 forward positions, and tbh that looks like a reasonable line up :P )

Well I am sure Crameri and one of Jones or Campbell will be playing forward, so that leaves 4 forward spots.

The midfield is already full so there isn't room for Shaun up there either.

Been lucky enough to never have him. Dont think i will start now :P

Apparently wont start full training untill late Jan, http://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/2013-11-27/no-hurry-with-higgins
I can see the value if it pays off but it's a BIG IF ;D
