Start him and Ablett as M1 and M2 every year. No exceptions this year

#JoelSelwood
Pendles > Joel Duckwood

I was meaning Selwood/Pendles > Ablett

How?

Not player wise, as picks for 2014, can't see Ablett averaging higher than he did this year, while IMO Jelwood will improve and go 120+.

Ablett aging and gc insane midfield.

Selwood and Pendles on the upswing.

Will have all 3 by round 10 though.

Who won't you start with Holz?

Ricochet

Ablett averaged 136 up until the last few rounds... He's priced at 129 and has a great run up until the byes
Jelwood also has a decent start and is a gun but still needs a big improvement to be on Ablett's level

GoLions

Absolute lock in my midfield, will be the highest averaging player end of next year.

I think Selwood and Ablett will average around the same, but Selwood is cheaper, so think he just gets over Ablett there.

Can't believe the same conversations and question marks still come up about Ablett every preseason  ::)
He is still the #1 man in supercoach

Certainly but both Ablett and Pendles aren't negotiable IMO. My favourite SC pair and players to watch in the AFL

29 isn't old!

Gold Coast mids have talent but they are still inexperienced. I hardly think Jack Martin is going to push the best player in the universe out of his position.

Plus Ablett scored just as well when he was a part of the strong Cats mids. People were saying he couldn't do it at GC due to no help. Proved them wrong. Now people are saying he has too much help and can't keep it up. Ridiculous.

I hope y'all don't pick Gazza and he scores back to back 180's to start the season.

Well Ablett wins that battle hands down IMO. Sellwood is a gun but his first half of last season wasn't all that flash.
Ablett only fizzed out a little at the end of the year due to injury so he actually comes at a bit of a discount if anything.
I just can't look past him. I'm liking that a lot of people are though because it makes him somewhat unique

Vinny

Personally I'd take the cash this year. Ablett cannot improve on last years average IMO but Selwood easily could.

Reckon Ablett & Selwood will average about the same. You got to remember how young Selwood is, he still can improve like crazy.

I would have all three Ablett, Selwood and Pendles but you can't. Cause of the byes.

Anyway I will have all three by the byes and Ablett will drop in price nicely so we can pick him up.

He averaged 129 why would he need to improve?  :o he hasn't dropped below a 127 average for 6 years. He's still in his prime, playing the best footy of his career which is clear considering he won the Brownlow.
Selwoods best return in a season is 118. That's a mile off Ablett. Can't see how he's going to bridge that gap. He had a career best season and came within a whisker of winning the Brownlow so how much better can he really get? I can't see where he is going to pull an extra 8 ppg that he would need to to match Ablett. I love Selwood, I'm a Geelong man but having watched their games and having him in my side last year He posted some bigger scores than normal in the back half of the year because he was kickng a lot of goals. I don't think you can expect that to be a regular thing.
Ablett is the best player in the Afl and supercoach. Not starting him is a crime
