B: Josh Hunt, Tim Mohr, Lachie Plowman
HBL Matt Buntine, Phil Davis, Heath Shaw
C: Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel, Lachie Whitfield
HF: Jed Lamb, Jeremy Cameron, Adam Treloar
F: Jonathon Patton, Tom Boyd, Devon Smith
R: Shane Mumford, Callan Ward, Tom Scully
INT: Jonathan Giles, Toby Greene, Will Hoskin-Elliott
SUB: Josh Kelly

NOTES: Jonathan Giles is likely to stay in the team until one of the Giants' tall forwards is able to help Shane Mumford in the ruck. It leaves this forward line a little top-heavy but that should change. Tom Bugg, Curtly Hampton and Zac Williams are on the fringe in the backline, with recruits Heath Shaw and Josh Hunt straight into the 22. Defender Stephen Gilham is also available if more height is needed. - Nathan Schmook

It looks ok to me... Hoskin-Elliott's spot is a little speculative, and tbh I don't see Buntine starting over Hampton and Bugg.

Vinny

What a forward line, share with the Blues :(

That would be a steal for Carlton. Patton will be the next Johnny brown

Vinny

Never, Walker goes and I will flip shower. :P

I've said we wanted Patton before :P

Ziplock

Walker's 28 this year and has an injury prone history.

Tbh, I dont think we'd do that trade :P

quinny88

Patton is worth way more than just walker. Walkers really only had 2 decent seasons and like Zip said, he's nearly 28.

Jroo

Patton is worth more than Walker.
Carlton would want to give Yarran + their first rounder while GWS would want Kreuzer or Gibbs. I can't see Patton moving.

Nige

Well, the Giants can't play all of Boyd, Patton, Cameron and McCarthy. One of them will leave.

Don't forget Tomlinson. He's been good so far and has shown more than Patton.
I've heard they will play McCarthy down back and I guess Tomlinson will also have to play there.

Tomlinson has been swinging forward/ back. But yeah, throw in the resting ruck, + jaksch...

Nige

Tomlinson and Jaksch both can play the swingman role, but I reckon they'll play down back a fair bit more now.

GWS are taking the Giants name and #standtall thing a tad too seriously.  :P

issue is we have a heap of young key backs as well.
