First play...a one hour effort to get things started.

Salary cap left: $75,300.

Jimmy Bartel, Brendon Goddard, Jarrad McVeigh, Pearce Hanley, Matt Suckling, Matt Scharenberg
(Darcy Gardiner, Jake Kolodjashnij)
Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Patrick Dangerfield, Jobe Watson, Tom Rockliff, Luke McDonald, Dom Tyson, Jack Martin
(Dayle Garlett, Luke Dunstan)

Matthew Lobbe, Hamish McIntosh
(Liam McBean, Toby Nankervis)

Nick Riewoldt, Chad Wingard, Dale Thomas, Shaun Higgins, Patrick Karnezis, Jesse Hogan
(Daniel Markworth, Spencer White)

Think Lobbe will be top in top SC rucks this year. Sole ruck at Port and locked in.
McIntosh is in atm...would prefer Goldy or Minson but comes down to $
Going with 5 elite mid guns...Rocky there because don't think he'll be a fwd. If he is that will change.
Rolling the dice with Higgins if in R1. Too juicy to pass up. If he gets injured so be it. Might only need a half dozen games from him to make serious coin.
NRoo is back in my team after not having him for last couple of seasons. Not many at the Saints to steal big points now.

Fire away.

Ringo

Will Goddard keep DPP we wait and see but have suitable alternatives if he does not.

Have some concerns with Hanley this year with having a break out year last year and with Blacks retirement may pick up a 2nd or 3rd tag and the couple of times he was tagged last year did not cope. May be wrong but being cautious.

Bartell worries me a little as well mainly due to the fact that he is 30 and may be slowing down a little.

We are all waiting on the Rocky verdict this year but personally I think he will keep DPP as he spent over half the year forward,

Big call on Lobbe but you need to take risks to get the cheese. Has shown some good form this year though.

You are not alone in selecting Higgins as if he is that price when official prices come out to juicy to ignore and will make cash,

Vinny

Nice start man.

Goddard will not keep DPP.

Rucks are too risky IMO, need a NicNat, Goldy or a Minson in there.

Wingard will start to cop attention.

Love your midfield, nice work.

GoLions

Defence: Exactly what these other legends have said, Goddard will lose DPP
Mids: Looks good. Maybe Beams over Danger? Your choice.
Ruck: Agree with what Vinny said
Forwards: Think NRoo will drop a fair bit next year, would try to swap him for Dusty or some other premium forward

enzedder

Thanks for the feedback.
Didn't think of Beams to be honest but that's not a bad suggestion. I imagine he's significantly cheaper and if that's the case he'd be the way to start off and get Danger later.
Happy with rucks, especially Lobbe...keen on him as my POD at cheaper set and forget price.  Hmac will depend on pre season..will watch Nic Nat/ Sandi with interest. Not worried about Goldy/ Minson at this stage. Started with Maric at 600k in 2013 and that didn't work out too well.
There's a few options down back for Goddard. At his price I'm not going to be scraping up the cash to find a suitable replacement.
NRoo could become Roughy. NRoo had dropped off 2 years ago and was stunning this year. No Dal Santo and McEvoy in 2014. Montagna, Jack Steven, Hayes and Fisher are the only SC relevant players with any history and the latter two are SC history. Thinking logically Jack Steven should be in my team and everyone elses for that matter.

Hi Team Enzedder

Def I would replace Goddard with Kade Simpson & Scharenberg with Mcdonald as Goddard will be a mid this year and Scharenberg won't be in Collingwoods best 22 early on.
Mids: Replace Mcdonald with Lewis Taylor need to check whether Rocky is named as a forward or Mid if Forward replace with Dayne Beams.
Rucks I don't think HMAC  will be the starting ruckman ahead of Simpson & Blicavs in the early rounds. You may be Correct with Lobbe
Fwds: If rocky is a Fwd this year replace Riewoldt with him. Iwould replace one of your forward bench with Michie.

enzedder

Been tinkering for the first time in about 7 weeks and found it hard with the prices set...
Team now...

DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, S. Thompson, M. Hibberd, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (M. Fuller, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, C. Wingard, D. Beams, J. Martin, D. Tyson, L. Dunstan (D. Garlett, B. Hartung)
RUC: M. Lobbe, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, M. King)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, L. Franklin, J. Gunston, J. Hogan, A. Fasolo, D. Markworth (S. White, L. Taylor)

10/8/12 bye structure as it stands
No idea about rookies and unsure about Hogan, Tyson & Martin at their price.

johnnytheboy1

Def: Much better has greater depth with only the one rookie. Thompson & Hibberd to have another big year.I think you have made the right decision by leaving Bartel out as he may be playing a different role this year.
Mids: most teams have Wingard up FWD so the only reason i could think you are picking him here is because of the DPP. No problems with the rest of team although maybe Honeychurch instead of Hartung
Rucks Lobbe has become a popular choice
Fwds: Bit light here as after Gunston your fwds drop away i would leave Markworth out for Lennon. depending on what money you have left

This is a strong team it has good depth with only a minor weakness up forward. give it an 8/10

Thanks johnnytheboy1

Made some minor changes...brought in Thomas for value and moved Wingard to fwds to stengthen there.
Downgraded some rookies to afford Thomas....Tyson and Hogan just too costly but will watch NAB closely...team now...

DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, S. Thompson, M. Hibberd, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (M. Fuller, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, D. Beams, Thomas, J. Martin, Ellis, L. Dunstan (D. Garlett, B. Hartung)

9/10/11 bye structure

Really good looking team mate. Well balanced across al lines, and good choice of premiums.

Love your backs. Really strong, maybe a little too strong though. Makes your F5 look a little weak as you're relying on two rookies here which could be a mistake given the value picks such as Clark, Higgins, Fasolo, Bock, Rohan etc.

Mids are strong, basically the same as me, so I like it a lot.

Rucks look good, not sold on Lobbe though. It could be a good choice, but only if he can sustain the second half averages of last year. Hopefully he is the lone ruckman at PA also.

Forwards look strong, but not a fan of Wingard, think there is better choices such as Dusty for an extra $20k or Roughead, but love the picks of Franklin and Gunston, both will increase their averages again from this year.
As I said earlier, two rookies is risky but could pay off.

Best of luck man, looking good so far :)

Thanks for the feedback wato
I really like Gunston. Another option would be to take a risk on Caddy who is F/M and considerably cheaper...nice article about him today
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-01-20/caddy-to-provide-a-presence
By doing this I could strengthen my forwards by taking a risk on Higgins if named R1

Option 1: Wingard, Gunston, Markworth/Rookie
Option 2: DMartin, Caddy, Higgins

DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, S. Thompson, M. Hibberd, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (M. Fuller, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, D. Beams, Thomas, J. Martin, Ellis, L. Dunstan (D. Garlett, B. Hartung)
RUC: M. Lobbe, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, M. King)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D Martin , L. Franklin, CaddyHiggins, S. White (J Kennedy Harris, L. Taylor)

Bye structure 11/9/10

Regs81

Can you do option 1 with Martin instead of Wingard??

roti

strong team with no faults, very well balanced, option 1 with martin looks the goods :)

Fwd line consisting of: Dangerfield, Martin, Gunston, Franklin, White/Rookie, Markworth/Rookie (Rookie/Rookie) is affordable too Regs81 and roti.

Dangerfield, Martin, Gunston, Franklin, White, Markworth...can afford
Dangerfield, Wingard, Gunston, Franklin, White, Markworth...original set up
Dangerfield, Wingard, Gunston, Franklin, Caddy, Higgins, White...mid price option fielding one rookie.

NB-cannot afford the last option with Martin rather than Wingard. Alternately could have Mitch Clark instead of Higgins which may appeal to others but still wouldn't be able to afford Martin :P

I really like your team, well balanced and seriously strong.

DEF - 5 "Premo" route, I like it alot, dont have to depend on 2 rookies each week.

MID - Pendlebury and Selwood, are great super premos and good captain choices. Rocky is solid. Beams & daisy are a must at that price.

RUC - Lobbe & Sandi, solid choices. Lobbe could be the new Minnow, and Sandi is a bargain.

FWD - wingard or martin huh??
Dusty - tonned up 12 times, 2 time under 70, 7 times over 120. Standard Deviation of 29.
Wingard - tonned up 8 times, 1 time under 70, 4 times over 120. Standard Deviation of 23.

your choice mate, either way its all good.

Gunston - tonned up 8 times, 3 time under 70.
Franklin - tonned up 9 times, 6 time under 70.

Both will improve, its up to you.

Higgins is a massive gamble, but can pump out 80-90s, if his body can hold he will make you some good coin.
