TEAM NAME: My Planned Dream Team
DEF: J. McVeigh, K. Simpson, T. Greene, B. Waters, M. Suckling, C. Howard (N. Bock, M. Scharenberg)
MID: D. Swan, T. Rockliff, J. Watson, T. Cotchin, D. Beams, J. Martin, M. Crouch, C. Beams (J. Polec,L. McDonald)
RUC: H. McIntosh, A. Sandilands (B. Longer, R. Lobb)
FWD: S. Johnson, L. Franklin, M. Pavlich, P. Chapman, D. Thomas, J. Hogan (V. Michie, B. Lennon)
CASH LEFT: $1,000

Trades from last time I posted here are -
Houli-Howard
Liberatore-Franklin (via Rockliff dpp)
Lecras-Pavlich
Fasolo-Lennon
Kelly-Cotchin
Nankervis-Longer
McIntosh and Sandilands have a bad injury history so I've gone with Longer as quality back-up ruck.
Thoughts?

Just doing this to make it simpler for me:
IN
Howard | Cotchin, Rockliff | Longer | Franklin, Pavlich, Lennon
OUT
Houli | Liberatore, Kelly | Nankervis | Rockliff, LeCras, Fasolo

Likes
Adds depth
All stand to gain points on average and $$$
Longer behind McEvoy and Sandi makes that ruck set-up a whole lot safer
Adds DPP to your midfield, which can be handy.

Dislikes
Libba is a big loss, in for a big season imo

Ratings
D: 9.25/10 to 9/10
M: 8.3/10 to 9.25/10
R: 6.5/10 to 7/10
F: 8.5/10 to 8.4/10
Overall: 8.4/10 to 8.5/10 great changes, definitely help your side imo.

Darley and Seedsman add a unique flavour to a strong defence
That forward line is very good in all regards
No real spud premo selections

Dislikes
Although cash constraints may have been a factor, not a fan of the tail of that midfield. My team for example has Matt Crouch and Dom Sheed on the bench, offering considerably better cover than Hallahan and Barry imo. I'd also probably prefer Aish in a weak Lions midfield to McDonald in a strongs North midfield, but again $$$ is a problem.

Ratings
D: 9.25/10
M: 7.5/10
R: 8/10
F: 9.15/10
Overall: 8.3/10 strong forward and back lines which can cause trouble to many teams, but the midfield leaves a lot to be desired.

I wasn't gonna do a team this early cos I know it's gonna change a million times and it'll probably look a lot different than this but I couldn't help myself, so here it is. thanks mate  8)

Stants and Chappy :D
Pretty strong depth on every line.
Strong ruck force, won't be worrying about it compared to people with Sandi, HamMac, Lobb and Currie.
Can't really fault any of your selections, minimal spuds.

Dislikes
Swan :3
Few players who's dpp is up in the air could be troublesome, such as Heppell, Rocky and Dusty.

Ratings
D: 8.45/10
M: 8.45/10
R: 8.45/10
F: you guessed it, 8.45/10
Overall: it'd be a twist if I went with anything other than 8.45/10, solid team, very even along all lines with good depth and two superstar uniques in Stants and Chappy.

Bill Manspeaker

champion 8) i'm happy with an 8.45 for my first attempt. very very likely that team will change around a shower load though. thanks again mate

Kellogscrunchynut

Cheers for the feedback, If Kade Kolodjashnij is positioned in defence come February I might see if its feasible to cut costs there and have a stronger mid.

So much water to go under the bridge though.

A lot of solid semi-uniques in there- Cloke, Lewis, Savage, Fyfe, Steven, Walker, Howard aren't completely left field, but could give you the occasional edge. Think US democrats and not communists.
No Ablett or Swan :o I'm proud!
No real spud picks at this stage (follows the line above)

Dislikes
That attempt to get an edge by being semi-unique and going guys like Walker, Lewis, Fyfe and Steven over Heppell, Dusty, Watson and Liberatore could hurt if it doesn't pull off and the four guys I mentioned follow their potential.
Curren over Aish or Beams?
Doesn't really stick out as that strong of a team.

Ratings

M: 8.25/10
R: 9.5/10

Thankyou Jukes,  a cheer for you. :)

on your earlier point, if Heppell and Martin keep their respective DPP's there is no way they will not be in my team come Round 1, I am just bracing for them losing it. Libba I probably need to see a little bit more top scoring over a longer period to take the punt. I love him to bits though. Watson, well.... I really have no reason for not picking him. :P

I will probably upgrade Steven to Jelwood because I have too many round 10 midfielders at the moment.

On Curren, I think he is this year's Chad Wingard in the sense of him just exploding. To less of a degree than Wingard though as Wingard came up from a 50 avg whereas its 70 for Curren. I did correctly call Wingard last year but was too much of an idiot to start Round 1. The chances of me having Curren in my team come the start of the season are remote, but I think he will go bang.

Thanks again Jukes, you have been most helpful. :)

Watts is a nice unique in a strong backline. I'm not sure he'll work out but if he does you'll be the only one laughing.
Few good unique guns in that midfield in Griff, Boak, Fyfe and a unique mid-pricer in Crouch. I reckon they'll all be good picks, not good enough for my midfield though.

Dislikes
Pretty weak forward line- forced to play one non-good rookie on the ground, plus a speculative pick in Motlop.

RATINGS
D: 8.8/10
M: 8.25/10
R: 8/10
F: 7/10
Overall: 8.33/10 pretty solid unique team, lot of speculative picks that if they work out would make the rating a lot higher in hindsight.
