I work and study I think you can find the time if you want. We have a long time guys I would rather the draft take a while than we rush through it in a week than have nothing to do till we wait for Dpp announcements to start the new trade period.

Also gives you guys some more  time to put some research in. You all need to lift your game, letting Dixon and Douglas slip to me last year ;)

Disagree. Drafts shouldnt take anymore than a week...at this stage we will finish this draft by round 4 next year. Moving way too slow, needs a cap whether it be 24 hours , and just make it if you miss your pick you get the highest picked player left. I have spent the last two days checking this page to see if its our pick yet and we are still probably a day or two away. Gets pretty frusturating

Why do we have to wait for DPP listings for the next trade period? I thought it re-opened straight after this draft finishes. That's like 3 weeks away haha.

haha, am I like the only one who doesn't have an issue with the pace of the draft? :P

Not just students here... working week starts tomorrow

I'm actually finished for the semester anyway :P

Difference with work is that (for people with your standard 9-5, mon-fri jobs), you've probs already done research/ looked into players and can make a pick in a manner of minutes... while at finals for a student, we don't have the time (generally speaking), to research, and subsequently can't make a pick as quickly.

That being said,  I think most students should be done by around now...

Time for a reality check. People with young families and fulltime work committments do not have much spare time ever mate. You will find this out soon enough  ;)

haha, I'm not trying to make it out like we have it ridiculously hard, because we don't for the large majority of the year.

But for most students, come finals and there's literally no time to do anything, you just buckle down and cram like flower. I worked full time in my gap year, and it was hard, but when it came down to it, if I needed to do fantasy football stuff I could just stay up an hour or two later and do some research, and be a bit tired the next day. When you're cramming for exams, you can't take that loss of sleep, that two hours will probs mean that nothing you look at the next day will stick in your head, which means another day wasted and a day you fall further behind your cohort.

I don't have the experience of having a young family, and I can see how that would make things harder, but I'm still maintaining my point- at finals you don't have the memory to waste on fantasy football.

46-48 weeks a year, uni life has nothing on real life. That 4-6 weeks of exams though is absolute hell, and it's unfortunate that the draft started at the end of that period, when everyone is absolutely flowered. In my case, this exam period was especially showerhouse because of the fires immediately prior to it, as well as some family issues coinciding, I was already a week behind on my work/ assessments.

That being said, most people should be done now, and have had time to catch up on their research.

*edit*
It's also the fact that real life is pretty constant, while stuff like uni finals makes more sense to work around, as they're only an issue for a small time period.

I don't think holz anticipated it would be moving quite this slow to be fair. That being said, it was explicitly stated there would be no penalties in the first  week, and I think it would be a unfair to instigate some now.

Because teams needs can change a lot and that's why I made it do you coukdnt use all tour trades in period 1. For example in my team I have about 4 guys who could be d/m or m what they get will affect my trading and rookie picks.

I can play you guys the world's smallest violin?

I don't mind taking time to draft, mainly because I lack picks and haven't done any research >:D.

What a load of rubbish, what's unfair is what's been happening.........There are actually rules in place, but it's been arbitrarily decided to ignore them

Nige

Having no penalties is almost asking people to take all the time in the world to pick.  :-X

We established before the draft was starting that a large portion of our coaches would be relatively unavailable immediately, hence why holz established that penalities weren't going to be instigated.

I'm going to be a lienent in the time you have to make picks. There will be nobody skipped in the first week. I trust people wont intentionally take a long time picking. So if you need your time to research its fair enough and you can have it, just say your need time. If someone is blantatnly taking their time they will be skipped.

The early drafting is because those who want to draft can do it early. Lets us have as much time to draft as we need.

If anyone had disagreed with this when holz said it, then fair enough that you would be irate now. But nobody opposed it, which indicates acquiescence. There isn't any real rush to finish this draft, considering our next tradinign period doesn't start until dpp is released anyway.

He did say if someone was 'blatantly taking their time, they will be skipped'. For instance, if I hadn't taken my pick 7 when I did, and instead decided to be a dick about it, it would have been perfectly reasonable to skip me. If Hawka had been online several times in the past day, it would be fair enough to skip him... but he hasn't. It's only just gone over the 24 hour mark we normally use anyway.

Noz

If you guys want to message me a list of players that you want to draft since I'm just at home studying so i should be on most of the day just to get the draft moving a bit faster.

Ziplock

I think the issue is that everybody's ready to go as soon as hawka picks :P
