The simple fact that he has chosen Tyson/Beams/Michie is that although they have experienced senior football before they all share the Round 10 bye which is perfect for rookies as it allows them the extra 1-2 weeks of cash $$$ improvements. It also allows Ringo to upgrade to Round 8 premiums where the best midfield players are on offer such as Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Cotchin, Dangerfield etc. and Round 9 premiums the week after such as Griffen, Libba etc. Martin is a Round 8 mid so he'd either have to hang on on or upgrade to a Round 9-10 mid, but they'd then have the bye in the next 1-2 weeks so the upgrade would be granted useless. It is a very intelligent strategy because it also allows the most amount of mids to play each of the bye rounds. It gives you two weeks of upgrading to premiums instead of one and then a bye or a bye then they play.

Get some Zork on your fork!!!!!!!!!!

Strange you don't have Hanley :o

Ringo

Just a note on Zorko Johnny - He has added pace and is leading in the sprint work at training.  Really throwing himself into the training drills to maintain forward pressure which appears to be prt of Leppas game plan.
With the addition of West and either McGuanne, Paine or Lewis supporting Brown up front can see nice pickings for him as well. It has already been said Brown will play FF this year as well.

DEF: Looks very solid. McVeigh and Mitchell are guns and Birchall is a bargain following a couple of injuries last year. Not sure about the Swallow pick but if he breaks out this year then you will look like a genius. Suckling too good to refuse at his starting price.

MID: Pendles a lock in any team that wants to do well. No Ablett? I think he is a must have. Rockliff could be anything this year under a new coach. I'm expecting at least a 115 average. Rich always cops the number 1 tag so I don't think he is SC relevant. If Daisy can recapture his 2012 form then he will be a steal at his price. I've gone the low priced rookie option but can see why you've picked Tyson, C Beams and Michie, they should all score well.

RUC: Really like this line. Goldy will at least maintain his average next year. Lobbe was outstanding towards the back end of last season. Hopefully with J Redden back from injury it won't effect Lobbe's SC scoring.

FWD: Danger is a lock. Martin can only improve so is a solid pick. Zorko burnt me this year so I won't be touching him next year. Mitch Clark is a stone cold bargain if he plays round 1 which he is on track to do. Not sure about the Bock pick, his best is well and truly past him. I would save some cash and slot Jay Kennedy-Harris in there. He is on fire at training and looks set to play round 1 at this stage.

Good looking team here Ringo. 8.5/10

Ringo

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Just a note on Rich. The way he is leading the running drills leads me to believe that they getting more endurance into him so he can try and burn the tag off, (Very obvious at training and maybe Leppas game plan to use him all over the ground)

The subtle change with both Rich and Zorko at training have caused me to pick both as they can improve on this years score. But will watch further training session and pre season before locking both.  As you know other options available.

I agree with Rich as a possible breakout contender, could step up and hit some big scores, maybe average 105-110. Not so sold on Zorko, seem a few teams with him, think he may improve on last year, but dont think he will be in the lions top 5 SC scorers and an absolute best could see him pushing 95, more likely high 80s as he spends a I wouldn't think he would get a big increase in mid time, and  despite good tackling numbers dont see him kicking regular bags of goals in a Lions side that will struggle to improve on last years output.

Just Personal mate think Martin is very expensive for a bloke yet to play an AFL game. Also another with Round 8 bye which means he has to generate his cash more quickly than others.  Could still find his way into my team based on pre-season form and players named Round 1.

that is something i will absolutely have to look at with my team .... but from what i am hearing from the eagles camp, i can not possibly pass up on xav ellis and how highly simpson rates him

Ringo

Agree mate am keeping an eye on Ellis pre season as well. Rookies will not be set till Round 1. Ellis has a Round 9 bye which suits as well.

It's also starting to make me doubt Martin and his $220k price tag, surely he'd become an outside mid because of his light frame and because he has the Round 8 bye upgrading him would be deemed as useless.

Ellis for Martin I'm starting to believe, IF his body can hold up. Allows me to get in Ablett also.

but what if he comes out and features as prominently as what omeara did? ... surely we would all pick him and he has been talked up as a better player than omeara

Ringo

Only difference between O'Meara and martin is O'Meara was priced at $117k and Martin at $223k.  If Martin was priced at $117k he would be a lock but at $223k have to question how quickly he will rise in cash.
For the record his stats in the NEAFL were better than O'Meara in his NEAFL final year so comparisons are warranted.
So it is basically a question of which mid and low priced rookies for me will make the most cash as they will not be in my final team. May be O'Meara when I look at pre season but there are a few players at $30k or more cheaper than him.

Higgins could still become Bock depending on who is named for Round 1.

As you say if fuller is named could be a handy option.  has a long kick and mature aged as well but may be behind a few,

It will be interesting to see if Fuller gets games, hope he does. Theres been a couple of decent mature aged players from Norwood over the years ...Rowe, Duigan, Lower, Puopolo, Terlich

Melbourne picked up a mature aged defender from Norwood aswell  ;D   Alexis Georgiou..  this article is hilarious

The inside word
Norwood coach Nathan Bassett thinks Georgiou has been overlooked by AFL clubs in recent drafts because "he looks like Mr Bean, he runs like he's running on broken glass and his kick looks awkward". Gangly he may be, but Georgiou has carved a reputation as one of the SANFL's leading defenders. A key contributor to Norwood's 2012 flag, he can shut down tall and small forwards alike and is clean with the ball.

Probably not a good scorer but might be alright for the bench

Grazz

That's gotta make him feel good all over doesn't it.  :P
