Ringo

Have put together this initial team based on current prices.

may change a little when teams of draftees are known.

TEAM NAME: Ringos Stars
DEF: J. Bartel, J. McVeigh, H. Shaw, J. Adcock, M. Suckling, M. Scharenberg (D. Gardiner, B. Colledge)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, J. Polec, D. Tyson, C. Beams (J. Martin, T. Varcoe)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (T. Derickx, L. McBean)
FWD: J. Roughead, S. Mayes, M. Clark, J. Patton, P. Karnezis, A. Fasolo (S. Kersten, J. Hogan)

Pull it to pieces,

bartel and mcveigh with DPP help backs
Am waiting to see on Ablett this year with the strength of Suns mids and how he is to be used May be a masterstroke or a can of poo.
Forwards a little weak but I think there is is a general weakness in forawrds this year similar to backs last year,

kilbluff1985

you got a theory on Adcock ?

Ringo

Is very consistent KB will not turn out big scores but will not put in a real bad one either.  Averaged 91 last year which is not shabby and was 13th highest scoring defender,

ubeaut

Interesting forward line! I like Roughy, Clark and Fasolo.
Backs same three prems as me.  Surely there are better options than Adcock? How much is he? Frustrating to own these days.
Great mids except for no GAJ. Like Sloane a lot.

Overall pretty good but I would look for a value pick in the ruck and strengthen forwards and Adcock.

nrich102

Yikes, that forward line  :o Actually looks really good. Mayes will be a gun. Good too see your gain enough to start with Adcock, I'm not :P

Thinks mate - just a first draft and Adcock is consistent unlike other defenders and is my POD atm.  Would have preferred Hanley but could not afford. Will be interesting to see if this team still is under the cap when official prices are released.

2nd Draft - Feel free to oull to pieces

Was done with byes in mind this stage and has an 11/9/10 bye factor - Still deciding on a bye strategy for this year after last years fiasco.

TEAM NAME: Ringos Stars
DEF: J. Bartel, J. McVeigh, M. Hibberd, G. Birchall, M. Suckling, M. Scharenberg (D. Gardiner, B. Colledge)
MID: S. Pendlebury, R. Griffen, J. Watson, R. Sloane, N. Fyfe, J. Polec, D. Tyson, C. Beams (J. Martin, T. Varcoe)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, H. McIntosh (A. Pattison, L. McBean)
FWD: T. Rockliff, N. Naitanui, D. Thomas, J. Patton, P. Karnezis, A. Fasolo (J. Hogan, S. Kersten)
CASH LEFT: $44,800

Odds 1000/1 on this being my final team but just getting the discussion going.

Really like it. Only question marks for me are on:
Fyfe, still to many 30+ possession games that only amount to 100 sc points due to pore DE
Hmac, too injury prone but with a big pre season will be worth a look in.
Patton, still only played a handful of games and they will nurse him back from an ACL
Karnezis, couldn't get a game at brassy don't see why he would at collingwood. Pre season will be no indicator as it was a false hope this year

You've almost stolen my midfield Ringo! Pendles, Watson, Sloane, Fyfe hahaha.
Like your defence, I've had Hibberd and Birchall in and out a few times so far
Rucks look good, but will need to see how Hmac goes in the pre-season
Forwards look pretty good, although not sure on Patton. But I guess he'd just be there to make money, so shouldn't be too bad

TeeJay, regarding Karnezis not getting a game at the Lions, it was because he told them at the beginning of the season basically that he wanted out, so there was no point in us wasting our time developing him for another team.

robbo

i see you havent really gone for many top 20 draft picks, any reasoning?
also i never think tall forwards do the job, whats the reasoning behind patton?

dmac07

Looks good, like the structure. Few points.

Patton, agree with whats been said, with Cameron, now Boyd and Mumford as the big guys, and coming back from injury, cant see him averaging more than 50-60 early on. Someone like michie a better option, or keep an eye on lennon at the tigers.

Griffen - dont think he could possibly improve on last year, think libba will take more points and is priced highly.  Think any of danger, cotchin, or even swan who may be a unique starter would be better. Or murphy/beams as cheaper options

Like the Sloane, Fyfe and Hibberd picks who are a little unique, especially the first two.

Obviously watch the rookies, think the fanplanner price for Varcoe is very wrong for some reason, but there will be at least a few options for first year rookies to put here.

Overall, 8/10

Ringo

Patton selected because he was cheap and looked good in a couple of games.  He may be the one to go in next review with another forward to select.
Waiting to see if Rocky retains DPP Status. If he loses he will replace Griifen and Danger if he has DPP may replace Rocky forward.
Not keen on Murphy until he shows he can shake a tag cost me big time this year in a couple of games.
Need another ruck as well FF still has Pattinson listed although de-listed by the hawks for the 2013 season.

dmac07

Rucks will be hard, often we have years where there isnt even 2 rucks under 200k selected to play rnd 1. Like lobb, nankervis at the moment.

Sabretooth Tigers

 :) :)
Hi Ringo, nice team.
Where do you think Leppitch will play Zorko ?  I kept him all last season, which cost me big-time, but very tempted to throw him in again as a POD.Cheers and best of luck mate   ;) ;)

Think Leppa will play him at half forward similar to where he was used last year. With our midfield can not see Zorko starting there.  It would be great if CD for SC rewarded tackles as Zorko was the club 2nd highest tackler (behind Reddan) last year exerting the forward pressure.
