Interesting topic this one. It can be a fine balance between picking to many of these sort of players but more importantly the right ones. Picking a proven scorer who has had some injuries worries at a discounted price and watching them return to a 100 average can make your side while picking another and seeing them go down after three rounds can kill you. Which ones have you picked? Which ones would you avoid? I find Beau Waters in particular an interesting one. But yeh I've listed a few, I'm sure there is some more but what are your thoughts?

With players like Sandi, Higgins, Waters, Suckling; All they have to do for me is last until their bye. We know they can score well, so if they stay on the park for 2 months, make some cash, and then become almost straight swaps for super premos in those respective positions who may have gone down a bit in price.

I currently have:
Beau Waters
Jack Grimes
Matthew Suckling
Dale Thomas
Nic Natanui
Aaron Sandilands
Claye Beams

And am considering:
Alex Fasolo

Yeh very true mate. That is the risk though, their is a fair chance half of them won't make it to the bye.

Yeh, I've gone Grimes as well. What are your though Rico on having Waters and Grimes in def, reasonable?

very good chance Grimes will be mid only

Good point, on that note, I'm pretty confident Sam Mitchell will get DPP, won 50% of his disposals in the back half..

I think Waters is a bargain and Grimes is more of a risk man. But at this stage I'm looking at both

Same here, just that extra price tag on Grimes is iffy, but its early days hey.

Everyone on that list could realistic be in your team come round one. I know I'll consider everyone of them  8)

Yeah I don't think I'll pick Rioli or Grimes but still considering them.
Depends if Grimes stays a defender.

A lot of people are making mention of getting guys like Sandi, Waters etc just up until the bye then offloading.
Did I miss something about how many trades we will get next year?
Surely you wouldnt start guys like these without the intention of keeping them.

Ill only start players that I believe will be keepers or have significant money to make. Making a bit of money off someone like Sandi isnt worth the trade imo. Would rather just start the safe premium to begin with if im only 50/50 of Sandi becoming a keeper.

In saying that im all for a bargain that I believe will be in the top scorers for their position and I think Cyril, Daisy and NicNat all fit that bill. Will definitely be considering all 3

At the present the only one I don't have in my team is Jack Grimes. And I'll throw in another I have picked in Sam Shaw. But pretty obviously most of these, if not all, will depend on the preseason. If they're up and about and selected in round 1. they are a big chance. Not extremely confident that many rookies will salute in rd.1 and 2014 could be a bit more tricky than usual, and that is really saying something.Cheers and Best of SC luck to all.   ::)
