Nice work mate, keen for this trading thread thing!

Similar to my team except I have McVeigh instead of Thompson, Buddy instead of Roughy, only one of Higgins/Fasolo not both and a few other minor changes. Also no Goldy probably, maybe Minson.

doesn't sound very similar :o :P

Vinny

Haha well only five differences bar rookies and both have some components that not many will.

I am really hoping we can afford these teams but I doubt it.

Are you confident Luke McDonald will be a defender? It will help a lot if he is.

He plays backline, will play in the backline and the draft lists him as a rebounding defender so he should be.

Did it in dt this year but had to stop because of my internet. If I have good internet will try and do a dt and sc one.

Thompson I'm not sure about basically he is interchangeable. buddy will strugle at the scg he will have lack of space. With Gillett I can't see him kicking bags considering Sydney and their defensive game. Walker did it though with tipett

I don't really like the forward premos so that's why I loaded the back and they have lots of cheap options.

Minson has had one good year, Goldy has two. He has been sole ruck twice and has gone 113+ both times. Is young and will improve with north if your going a premo has to be nic Nat or Goldy.

Vinny

Fair enough.

Yeah Goldy, I don't know about him. I am not convinced by Mumford, Kreuzer or Sandi anymore. We will see!

Also one other difference is I will probably start Pavlich who I forgot.

I also forgot him. Out roughly in him.

Vinny

Yep! You have to start him I think, not that I want too. Gun but gives me a weird feeling! :P

had another look this time working out the byes

Jarrad McVeigh, Michael Hibberd, Kade Simpson, Grant Birchall, Matt Suckling,Beau Waters
Matt Scharenberg, Luke Mcdonald

Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Jobe Watson, Tom Rockliff, Dayne Beams, Dom Tyson, Dominic Sheed, Claye Beams
Luke Dunstan, Jack Martin

Nic Naitanui, Todd Goldstein
Liam McBean, Sam Naismith

Dustin Martin, Matthew pavlich, Dale Thomas, Shaun Higgins, Shane Kerston, Ben Lennon
Viv Michie, Jesse Hogan

Round 8 9
Round 9 8
Round 10 13

you will notice im loading up round 10 players. thats becasue i will be mass trading out rookie (Michie, Hogan Naismith, Beams, Dunston, Tyson etc...)

alos possibly have the strgonest backline in the whole comp, like the value up front.

dmac07

I do agree with loading up the backline being the way to go, but going with the principle of picking players who will be top 6-8 in their positions, think other people will end up with stronger backlines while you are upgrading the rest of the team.

I see the most likely top scorers (depending on positions assigned) being McVeigh, Walker, Bartel, Thompson, Shaw, Hibberd, Hanley, Birchall.Think you might end up leaking points having all of Waters, Suckling, Simpson who might not be top 6 scorers, but arent cheap enough to be cash cows. They wont be a long way off but thats just my opinion.

30 trades is a lot and I agree waters suckling might not be top 6 scorers.

However McVeigh role issues, bartel age and role issues.

Waters averaged 100 in 2012 so could defaintely go 90+

suckling 90 in 2011 83 in 2012 should be priced around 65 and i think he can go 80+ pretty safely.

not sure what the top 6 will be but if i have a free 100k lying around in the middle of the season i will upgrade them.

in the mids i have only 3 guys to upgrade, ruck nobody and at worst 5 guys to upgrade up front. so that 8 upgrade target and 2 of them are almost premos in Pav and Thoms so will only take 3 trades to get them to super premos.

Means i think i have 3-4 trades to turn that backline into the best of the best. Also i wouldnt be suprised at all to see these guys be top 10 backs. Walker will probably be the guy i go to when he has a few slow games.

should take me 1.5 trades to have a backline of this

Mcveigh Hibberd Simpson Birchall Walker Suckling/Waters.

compared to this year when i had goodes as my D6 in my finishing squad.

the thing is will be killer backline counter my super weak forward line.

Vinny

Simpson is a gun. Waters too, but he has risk of injury. Look at Simmo's scores, up with the best.

dmac07

Have to load up on the backs agree, still not too dissimilar to mine. The fwds is the problem this year, if martin and rocky both lose dpp we will be screwed with no one under 30 to pick.

yeah i look at the forward line and dont really want to pick any premos,

but than there is fasolo, patton, kerson, michie, hogan, lennon, higgins etc....

my back bench looks abit $$$$ though.

yeah fantastci end of the year, started slow so is cheap. could easily be a top 6 back
