Thompson Simpson Birchall Hibberd Suckling Mcdonald (Sharenberg, TBA)
Pendles Selwood Watson Rockliff D.Beams,Tyson J.Martin, Sheed (C.Beams, M.Crouch)
Goldstein Ni Nat (Mcbean, Naismith)
Martin Thomas Roughead Higgins Fasolo Hogan (Michie Thorp)

all pure premos or injured players who have shown something in the past. 14 keepers and 7 upgtrade guys. probably wont be able to afford and will change goldy to sandi.

A lesson to take from this is stock standard teams work you don't need to go unique to win.

I like the rucks and will be doing something similar myself, pretty sure Naismith is still rookie listed though

Pretty standard midfield

Will you start Fasolo and Docherty if not named round 1? I'm not entirely convinced they're best 22 for their clubs

I don't start anyone if not named round 1.

I probably will go team 2, at 280k dochers hasn't proven enough to justify his price unlike suckling who we know is a premo is fit.

Looks good Holz, but shouldn't you be the one giving advice  :P
Why aren't you picking Ablett though?

I got advice regularly last year, nobody can do it alone.

Im more a trader I will be doing a trade advice thread during the season..

Reason for no ablett is the bye basically.

It's not just the premos who are round 8 it's also rookies like Martin. I don't feel he is undervalued and I'm comfortable with pendles selwood captain. Also want to ser how the rise of gc mids including the addition of Martin will effect his scoring.

I was just saying that you should be giving up advice after you done so well last year.
No Ablett should be a POD for you and if he doesn't score too well early you'll look like a genius.
But yeah team looks good. How much cash do you have left?

kilbluff1985

looks solid at this stage Holz

for overall 6 premo mids might be the way to go though

i agree you don't need to be unique to win or risk it to win the biscuit, having a fairly standard team is unique in itself

Typhnn

Nice work Holz on both teams....

Risks: No Murphy, Grundy, Sandi??

Traditional: i think nearly everyone's team so far we have all had 5-6 Prem in the mid, yet you're only taking 4??  any reason why? i would have thought maybe your score would take a bigger hit??

Going with 5 you need that cash generation from the mid rooks.

Instead 4 back premos and suckers. I don't like the backline rooks.

kilbluff1985

yeah me either my current team is fairly similar to yours but got Savage as 6th mid

Because I forgot list beams. You need 5 premos or your going to strugle.

Those guys aren't risks not picking them they are massive risks.

Murphy won't be a top 10 mid so you need to upgrade. He gets killed in a tag and isn't that cheap.

Grundy is a second year player and he isn't cheap I'm much happier locking in guys who have 110+ histories for 200-300k more.

Sandi had Clarke and griffin, constant injury problems and it's always a risk if bring managed. With poor rookie bench options you need a solid ruck combo.

Ricochet

Very nice Holz, like this setup. Not sure what the hype is with Grundy in his second year either.
Murphy is the only one i would recommend you include, other than that maybe Sandi, but you've already mentioned him.

Ringo

Very nice set up Holz - No real risks. Hope we do not get burned by not selecting Murphy but like you do not think he will be in top 10 mids unless he learns to shake tag.

Bones Bombers

Are you confident Luke McDonald will be a defender? It will help a lot if he is.
