My eyes always light up when a heading reads "so and so set for extra midfield time" always worth reading into, and for a man already on many radars this could be the exclamation point on Fasolo. How much midfield time would be the question, but it is a positive for him.

we hear these types of things all the time many don't come true was already going to watch him in the NAP anyway

might be midpriced madness in the forward line

A lot of top quality Pie mids will struggle for MID time next season, let alone a forward wanting more.

You cant fit Swan, Pendles, Beams, Sidebottom, Ball, Young, Adams, Karnezis, Macaffer, Martin, JThomas and their new draftees into the same midfield let alone a forward. A lot of the time these things are said pre-season but never eventuate, Id be cautious.

Fair call guys, as I said it'll depend how much, he won't "play" midfield but he will rotate through there I would think, in modern day footy 8-12 players rotate through their at any given time. He's not in my team atm but it was worth putting out their. One to consider for sure.

Ricochet

Yeh exactly right shorty. Teams have 8+ players rotating through their 5 midfield spots (sometimes 6-7 spots when teams have half fwds that get "5th mid" roles), it all just depends on how much time they get through there. Elite midfielders like Swan, Pendles, Beams, Sidey and Ball  will obviously get more time than Adams, Thomas, Karny and co.

i think having 10-15 players that can play midfield out of the starting 22 would be very handy

ubeaut

If he's cheap I don't care where he plays just as long as he plays (excluding the green vest)

Noz

At this time of the year every forward is set for more midfield time.

quinny88

Just about every small to mid sized forward needs to be able to rotate through the middle these days. Particularly with the interchange cap coming in, expect to see more players required to have a stint through the middle.
Dont think it changes much for teams like Collingwood though. They have arguably the most talented/deepest midfield in the comp. Guys like Pendles, Beams, Ball etc arent going to spend less time in the middle so that someone like Fasolo can have a turn. I wouldnt think it would change his scoring potential much at all

I don't care about midfield time if he gets game time unsubbed and he is in.

dmac07

Even if he gets 0 mid time, if named round 1, and around tge fanplanner price of 150-200k, he will be in my team anyway. Could easy play most games averaging 75-80, pretty good for a rookie priced fwd.

Surprised Kyle Martin didn't request a trade.

I have no idea why Oxley was promoted off the rookie list over Martin. Martin was good when he played and was pretty unlucky to get dropped after one bad game.
About Fasolo I doubt he gets much midfield time but I'll still consider him even if only plays up forward.

Not keen on thi. Bloke at all, perfect sub material!
