Haha i would have agreed with you in the past My Chumps but Eagles have publicly stated they will be focusing resources on their medical department to ensure best 22 players stay on the park all year. Obviously can't predict injuries but this focus by the club should help injury prone players like Waters.

Haha, that is a good question KB.

I don't think a bit of extra attention in the medical department will help Waters; he's built like a tissue but is one of the most courageous players ever to play the game, which isn't necessarily a good combination.

Well obviously they recognised they weren't doing enough and it has been an issue over the past couple of years... And are devoting more towards that section of their footy department now. As in more employees, more research, more funding, etc.
Stuff like that is assessed on a yearly basis and has to go through the board to be approved. It takes time.

I think much of the reason would be around Nic Nat. They need him fit to be any good, and he's always flowering injured. I think people are starting to have concerns as to whether or not he's ever going to be able to play the way he does without getting injured.

Yeh NicNat, Lecras, Waters, Shuey, etc. NicNat has only really had only injury plague year though. Has played 20 of more games in every season prior to this year (excluding his debut year).

Why would it b dumb to consider starting with Bock?
Averaged 99, 83 and 93 in the three seasons before his broken leg.
Could start the season at 180k? Has far better job security than any other rookie priced defender.
Has had nearly two years to recover from his injury?
If bock were to get through a few NAB cup games then it would b dumb to not consider him.
Agree with this. Forward or back he'll score well for stuff all and good JS.

Exactly! Even if he doesn't get back to the 90 average that he has before, somewhere around 75-80 would do for his price. Plus he has potential F/B DPP which could be handy when trading him out. What's there to lose?
30 something years old, key forward, Shower JS, under investigation by ASADA, can't compare to before he got injured.

Dayze

He is still the same bloke. Even if he averaged 75 mate he would b worth it.
Will not play key forward while the young suns develop.
Strictly backline.
U have to consider these guys nrich. I'm not saying he is locked. But to put no thought into bock could b a huge mistake...
Has every possibility of being the best injured pick up of the year.

nrich102

Have you watched the 2 games he played? Have you looked at his NEAFL stats? He is a forward now not a back. Rookies have better JS than him.

Dayze

Gold Coast didn't recruit him as a forward. Maybe there easing him back and feel the forward line is the place to do it?
Who knows mate, if he is a forward I'm less interested. All I'm saying is u have to consider him, that's all.
This time of year players are just on our watchlist. It isn't dumb to "consider" Bock.

Dayze

On top of that, bock would b on huge money. I would imagine about half a mill a year.
U don't have some one on Ur list on huge money that has no JS... Just a thought.

Will Sam Docherty chances of Starting in the Carlton line up be affected with the retirement of Nick Duigan which would mean Heath Scotland would get elevated.

Possibly, but I think Scotland was going to get elevated anyway.
Guess we have to wait until round one to find out.
