Coheed and Cambria - 21:13
Started off a bit eerie! But liked the sound...didn't really feel as though it built up so can't see myself regularly listening to 10 minutes of it :P

About as fun as a blues song can get, but irks me because he indulges in a bit of blatant plagiarism.

Probably the best song title ever...

Pretty brutal track. Enjoy the constantly loud, brutal guitar and what I think is a keyboard (an organ even?) occasionally giving the song extra energy and urgency. Vocalist was wholly unenjoyable tho, sounds poorly mixed and recorded. Certainly not my preferred genre of music to be fair, but definitely can't see myself coming back to this one in my spare time.

Soft and melodic a nice combination, reminds me alot of Pink Floyd

Panama - Stay Forever

VERY watchable, but not for the bit of boring ethereal indie/synth pop that I won't remember anything about tomorrow. Synth pop should have died in the 80's, mixing it with anything doesn't produce good results. Would have been better if they had a 40 minute clip that went on mute when the drums came in, not that the actual song lasts long anyway.

I'll do the review so you don't have to suffer through it.

This sounds lame. Ok that's a bit better now the other instruments have come in. This is heavy. WTF is this guys problem, why is he so aggressive sounding? Sounds like pure Venom, in Swedish. He sounds drunk. That bit was too high pitched. More angry guy. He sounds like the kind of person who would cut himself on stage with razor blades. Hang on it's gone soft... piano? A Christina Ricci sample? What the hell is this? Wow, this is messed up and uncomfortable. This gentle piano and cello section is the last thing I expected to hear. Angry guy is back, but he has calmed down and is sort of attempting to sing/croon, still drunk though and trying some Louis Armstrong, sounds flowering awful, but wait... COWBELL! Damn, that's one hell of a shred guitar solo. Ok, hurry up and finish. Listening to this shower will make you want to kill yourself.

"Look guys, I get it, you don't like metal. But will you please at least acknowledge you simply don't understand it because you're clearly not as eclectic as I?"

Pretension: the post.

Next up tho, seeing these guys at Sugar Mountain Festival next weekend.

Hahaha no Chumps, I just wanted to get involved without ruining the thread due to my lack of taste :'(
Back in my hole I go.

Is Sugar Mountain the hipster festival that Nas is playing Illmatic at?

Yup. He's the reason I heard about it and got tickets, but the rest of the lineup's actually pretty cool.

Mat0369

I passed for multiple reasons, I am going to go see him at the Forum next Sunday instead

Can't pick the genre of this my guess would be indie rock or post something? Decent guitar riffs throughout the song, not used to the style of vocals but on the whole its alright.

This is mint.

I love Lorde and I love Flume, so when he dropped the remix I was so happy. This is just a top banger and I can do nothing other than sing its praises.

All Due Respect - Run The Jewels

Just got into these guys myself, this is my favourite song so far.

@ Nige I'd describe Iceage as post-punk/rock. But I suck at picking genres for stuff. Pumped to hear you're getting into RTJ. :-* Everything about RTJ2 was incredible, and All Due Respect was no exception, the LP had the catchiest hooks of the year.

If y'all haven't checked out D'Angelo's 'guys I'm still rockin about' surprise release 'Black Messiah' do yourself a favour and give it a listen.
