Forced Listening.

As some may have read about in the Album of the Week thread, Mr Craig brought up the idea of a 'forced listening' thread. So
yeah, here it is.

Basically it works like this:-

-Somebody posts a song, with a (legal) link.
-Another user reviews it, and then posts a song of their own.
-The cycle (hopefully) repeats itself.

Some basic rules: -

-No trolling. It's perfectly acceptable to dislike a song, however say so in a polite way, and state your reasons.

-Only one review per song, first in first served.

-Reviews don't need to be long, but try to go beyond "yeah, rocks" or "nah, sucks".

-No posting a song without having first written a review for the previous song, and no writing a review without posting a song for the next person.

-Listen to the entire song before reviewing it, and try to be open-minded - we're trying to broaden our musical horizons here.

-Any song will do - old, new, obscure, mainstream, whatever. However keep in mind the forum rules regarding foul language, inappropriateness, etc.

-Only post if you're reviewing/putting up a song. If we start getting bogged down in reviewing the reviews and defending song choices and so on, it'll quickly get very messy.

-If you post a song/link to a song without providing a review/a sufficient review, I will get your post deleted by a mod.

I'll kick things off here.

Bullet In My Hand - Redlight King

Didnt mind it Nige, I thought the video was a hell of a lot better than the song though haha. Im very picky when it comes to this sort of music, however I can and will, add this to my playlist. I didnt think the tempo matched the video, but maybe just me. Those Riffs :-*

Next up:

Demons - Imagine Dragons

most people wouldve heard it, just interested to see a fellow forumers opinion on it, one of my favourite songs of 2013.

It has that loud/quiet anthemic feel to it. A bit poppy compared to most of the stuff I enjoy but I really liked the over the top drums.

what on earth is this haha, I dont even, too jerky for my liking, it got a bit better as the song went on, but man... that was just a plain weird and somewhat scary experience. It has the potential to grow on me.. hmm I dont know... rather startling.

another mainstream one

It's a pretty chill track, and it's catchy. It's got the kind of beat that I like, but then again, I'm pretty open-minded so most beats sit well with me. I didn't listen to it now because I listened to it yesterday. I'm a fan of the indie rock genre. The artwork for the single is pretty cool too.

yeah not too bad man, definitely not my taste but it seems the sorta song if I was playing a game or something and this was on in the background I could find myself groovin to it, not much to it so it's pretty chill. the chick looks pretty good aswell

is there a limit to the length of the song? is 7:30 too long? if not....

Ez you bloody legend, I dont even have to wtach the video or give it another listen haha.

This was the first song that got me hooked on both Disclosure and Sam Smith, Smith is such a good singer, the beat is really good, just everything about this song is amazing. I cant help but sing the chorus, every, single, bloody time. Amazing song.

edit, oh brad got to it, Ill do his then

(Sic)monic - Illumination

The first bit of the song really drags me in, the vocals are nice, and that guitar is sensational, the rest of it, well, I dont really like Metal, not my cup of team Im afraid, the slower bits with the vocals and no screamo are really really sweet though. (Y)

Lily Allen is my guilty pleasure. So yeah, I love this song. :-* I actually wrote my own parody of this about a mate who's a lost cause at the best of times. I'm a fan of this because of how chilled out of a song it is, by that I mean it's not too intense, but it's also not 'eww'.

This is the point of the thread righgt here, to find songs that you enjoy that youve never heard of, like I am, currently rocking out to this one, reminds me of Calvin Harris' solo mixes. Very fast, but the voals bring it back a bit. Quite nice.

This is something new to me. Mixed feelings about this one. I like the beat a lot, but the vocals annoy me. I might look into WEKEED a bit more though just to see if this is similar to their other stuff.

No Guns Allowed - Snoop Lion ft Drake and Cori B

Mr.Craig

hmm, its a little bit slow for my liking, I also hate drake, but there is something really soothing about Snoop Dogg (Lion) here. Cori B is good, the oxygen thief is still stealing oxygen but whats new. Its a really relaxed soothing song, the lyrics are quite meaningful. Its probably a song Id listen to when trying to go to sleep, in a good way.
