I think it's worth the risk. As long as he lasts until the byes, then you can get rid of him. We all know how well he can score, and at that price you can make a fair bit of cash once the byes come around, then upgrade him to a top forward for almost nothing.

Def- Gibbs will probably lose DEF eligibility, apart from that looks good. I'm considering Waters myself, but only if he's 100% fit. Otherwise don't risk it.
Mid- Looks really good, no faults there
Ruck- Looks fine
Fwd- Looks good

Probably a 9/10 overall, really like the look of that team. How much cash does that leave you? I'm expecting player prices to be a bit more than what they are on fanplanner, which could mean you may have to spend an extra 50k or so on a team.

Ricochet

Can't really fault it tbh, apart from Higgins but he is worth the risk at his price.

Nah, like the first team much better tbh

Noz

The lack of no Wingard is very very concering.  :o :-\

Like the selection of Jed Bews should see him play a few games next year with the recent retirements at Geelong, Van Unen will see games in 2014.

Rule number 1 in life my friend... Always have Gary Ablett in your fantasy footy team. Good pick with Fasolo because if he is around the 160k mark like the Fanplanner has predicted then he could earn you a good 100K+, good work on replacing him with Higgins to prevent serious stress or hair loss.

Rule number 2 is to not always spend heaps of cash on someone who's value isn't as much as other players also.

Hence $690-$700k on Ablett when you have $10 million to start the year is somewhat a little overpriced when Pendlebury, Selwood and other players are either $50k or less and should average similar numbers to start the year.

For once, Ablett does not seem a starter in SC. 4 of his last 5 games last year could be a sign of what we may start to expect in some games, and with the ever improving midfield at GC, as good as he is, the younger midfielders will have to start to develop further, meaning more forward time.

I would much rather pay $100k less for Cotchin/Watson etc and make my first upgrade Ablett after his bye. First few games next year Ablett has some good taggers on him, so he may start the year a little slower than usual.

Will average high and be in everyone's teams by the end but that extra $50-100k could be much better used in other players on other lines to begin with.

Just my opinion. I won't be starting with him as it improves other lines without making my midfield look to small.

Pendlebury, Selwood, Cotchin, Watson and Beams is good enough.

It's just my opinion man, i see your point, i just feel that having ablett has always been a good option especially as a captain.

With the VC loophole, he's not as important for captain as he used to be. Also, Pendles and Selwood are good options week in week out as well. Granted he should go top 3 avg easily, but in terms of bang for your buck, like wato said, not as essential to start with this year I reckon.
