The defending champs out in straight sets?!  :o

This happened at the last world cup as well if I'm correct? Italy went out in the first round?

Yup! And France out in '02 after winning in '98!
Haha yeah, that's right. I realised soon after I posted that this was the case!

For the record, Sweden has something no other team has. The god among footballing men. You may know him as Zlatan. He's the one thing this world cup is lacking.  :-* :'(

Lol holz

Any other group and we get out. Cahil waa very good in holding up the ball. Dropping kennedy is still a mistake though.

Anyone waking up for the Liverpool practise match tomorrow? ...sorry, I mean Liverpool vs Uruguay  :P

Watched Australia this morning and was super happy with the display! Obviously would've been good to get a point, but was still a great match, best so far IMO.

Also, please drop Oar Ange  :(

Cahil will be a big loss next Cup, after he retires we could go backwards unless we can find someone.

Taggart is great and there are, as Jukes touched on, a plethora of kids coming through. We will miss him big time but the rest of our squad will overall be stronger imo!

Master Q

I should have said intra-squad match...

Suarez  ;)

Kennedy was injured wasn't he?

Most people have said that the we played well and put up a good fight not that we deserved to win, at least the fans that aren't delusional did. We may be 0-3 one but our efforts in the second half vs Chillie & vs Netherlands were great. People can say whatever the flower they want, we can still be happy with our efforts. Obviously we are under-dogs and no shower the whole country gets excited when we play well, that is what fans do.

I haven't read the comments in detail, but I agree with holz. There are like at least half a dozen European sides that deserve to be in it over Australia. They are just unlucky they don't qualify against deadbeats, instead they have to verse the world's best nations.

Anyday I would want to watch a Wales or Sweden play over Australia.

And if Bale/Zlatan weren't playing, would you still?

Anyway, its a moot point. It doesn't matter what you wanna watch. If you have a problem with Straya being in the WC then chuck a sad at the system that determines who qualifies not the Roos.

Its called a World Cup. There should be more spots to Euro obv, but there isn't.
