Massive performance by the boys today although we really did lack structure and stability when Bresciano and Timmy went off. Bit of a glimpse to the future though, plenty of incredible attacking talent coming through!

Oh, and Timmy. Boy oh boy. Wowee.

Especially that cow Cahill, selfishly keeping young players like Luongo out of the team when the experience will do them a lot better, and they're also much better.

lol, you were saying? You should have to deliver a speech to Sir Tim Cahill for being a knob and doubting the great mans ability.

Nige

The defending champs out in straight sets?!  :o

Boy oh boy, wowee... this Chilean team!

Vinny

We played well, good signs boys.

Jay

Should've won. >:(

Good signs though!

Would much rather be an Australian supporter than a Spanish supporter this morning ;)

Mailman the 2nd

Do the Spanish suck now or what? I'm not an avid follower but weren't they the favorites?

Jroo

2 goals from about 20 shots as the long striker in 2 losses, and he's old so doesn't need the experience gained from losing every match...Taggart is much better choice.

Two consecutive years the reiging champs have gone out in the group stages...and both had an Oceanic (NZ and Aus) team in their group.

Still a better strike rate than Rooney.

Anyway, you're delusional. Without him we would be looking at 4-0 and 4-0. He's a crucial focal point and when he went off we lacked structure going forward. He's suspended next game anyway so you'll get your wish.

Don't be blinded by hatred though.

Jukes

Lacked structure because the team are used to playing with a 40-year-old campeur!

"Blinded by hatred" after consistently spruiking Taggart, Luongo, Ryan, Da Silva, Rogic, Kruse...maybe it's you who's blinded by hatred cow.

Just gotta build for the future. Blood youngsters a lot more in the national team and ensure they get the best possible training, both in terms of physical skills and mental skills. They have to start dumping oldies like Neill, Schwarzer, Cahill, Bresciano, Thompson and Kewell who get in on reputation alone and start playing these gun youngsters. One key part of this is ensuring they get experience both domestically and overseas. Having a sustained coaching staff and squad will also play a key role. And, most importantly, get the right mindset into the coaches, players and FFA.

This team if managed correctly could challenge next year for the round of 16, with the help of a few old blokes, and could make the top 8 in 2016.
Ryan
Galloway, Sainsbury, Good, Goodwin
de Silva, Amini
Williams, Rogic, Oar
Kruse
Bench: Langerak, McGowan, Chapman, Behich, Antonis, Irvine, Halloran, Taggart, Duke

Oo ah, I think I touched a nerve there.

Cahill is 34 but who flowerin cares. Its beneficial for young players to have someone like him who has made it in the big leagues to learn off and emulate.

By your logic the Bummers should have replaced Fletcher with some 18 year old about 20 years ago.

Blinded by hatred? Lol, no. Stop trying to change what I've said to make a point. All I've said is Timmy is a legend and he's beneficial to the young kids. You've doged and moaned about Cahill even being in the squad. You're the cow.

Just going to put this into perspective for your small brain.

Tim Cahill has scored 5 goals for Australia in the world cup. That is more World Cup finals goals than Ronaldo, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Del Piero, Van Nistelrooy and Charlton. The list goes on.

You cannot deny that this bloke has positively influenced the Socceroos and has given direction to Australian football.

Holz

had enough of Australia and how brilliant they have been. Truth is they are 0-2 as they should be and really dont deserve to be in the cup. Just lucky they are in a good qualification group. Alot of European nations deserve to be in.  Will be good when they are knocked out and we can focus on the world cup, not them.

I wasnt going for Spain but this is a sad way for them to go out and especially Casillas he is a legend and I hate to see him go out like this. Cant see him playing at 37 in the next cup. Really hope he pulls a clean sheet against Australia.

elephants

Spain shouldn't be in the cup. An embarrassment to the World Cup Finals as a whole.

Drop Spain and bring in one of those more deserving European countries. Spuds have only scored 1 goal for the entire tournamanet. How flowering embarrassing.

Justin Bieber

You just want Germany to do well Holz :P.

Schwarzer would have stopped that.
Amen. Although to be fair, Ryan did make a few good saves today.
And Ryan is a young guy who had big shoes to fill, think getting experience is good for him especially against top teams.

Spanish team would get a flogging from their media :-X. Aussies are super happy considering we gave the Netherlands a good match and actually scored goals :o. Watched it was was stoked for them, as nobody gave them hope, even our own supporters :P.

We also did better than Spain against them, so by that logic, we should beat Spain :o.
