TEAM NAME: Tumbling Turtles
DEF: B. Goddard, D. Heppell, S. Hurn, D. Swallow, M. Suckling, K. Aylett (J. Taylor, L. Thompson)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, P. Dangerfield, N. Fyfe, H. Bennell, D. Beams, A. Morabito, J. Martin (X. Ellis, J. O'Rourke)
RUC: S. Mumford, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, L. McBean)
FWD: T. Rockliff, N. Naitanui, L. Franklin, D. Thomas, S. White, J. Hogan (S. Kersten, J. Paine)
CASH LEFT: $44,600

DEF: I like hurn as a unique premium option. Swallow is in there as a breakout contender.

MID: Amazing line if i can actually afford this. Bennell is my unique breakout.

RUC: I think mummy could get back to his best a be an absolute bargain.

FOR: Not the strongest line wth 2 rookies. IMO there arent a lot of good premium forwards, but the ones i have are locks.

Overall team looks quite good... except no GAJ?

to be picky - doubt Goddard, Heppell & possibly Rockcliff with have DPP...

Murphy is way underpriced in the mids, suggest nearly 1st picked...!!

Hurn/Swallow i like as POD, hope it works out for you...!!!

Thanks for the feedback  :)

Im going for pendles over gaz. i reckon he'll drop off a bit this year turning 30, and ill get him later on.

youre probably right about MPP, but i can deal with that later.

murph is definately a good option, but i think beams is even more of a lock.

you could argue that i should get him over bennell, but that would be getting rid of a unique for someone everyone else has.

I think this is possibly the first year that not starting GAJ could be the better choice. I personally don't plan on starting him as well.
Rocky should keep DPP, agree that BJ and HepD will lose it.
Agree Murphy is good value, would suggest Bennell-->Murph.

Looks pretty good apart from Bennell, although he definitely could break out this year

Thanks for the tips.

I reckon bennell is a really good option though for this year. Has been in my sights ever since his brilliant end to last year. Hopefully no one gets him and he can be a really good unique :)

Just had a quick look at Bennell's stats and they are quite impressive in his last few games mate.

Average of 124 with 5 tons out of 5. If he kept up that form over the first half of next year even, he'd be a great buy.

Also had a look at his previous years stats and couldn't believe it when I saw he pulled a 193 against Melbourne, which is extremely impressive. 38 possession, 4 goal game. Wow, GC are building something special up there.

Yeah Gold Coast have a ridiculously good midfield.

Gaz, Bennell, O'meara, Martin, Prestia and Swallow. That will be amazing in 2 years.

Al I can say is u must have GAJ! 30? so what? That's nothing -  he's just hitting his peak. Every year people try and be unique and come up with reasons not to pick him and every year he proves he's the BEST PLAYER.
For years people overlooked players like Scotland,O'Keefe,Pav,Boomer,Chappy,Goodes and these players kept proving everyone wrong. GAJ will be no different.

Like Bennell as a unique. Hurn is awesome but when tagged it lets him down( and stuffs his average) and never averages much above 90. If you're happy with 90 then fine. Swallow could work well in defence.

Love the rucks. Forwards at this stage look like most other teams with Rocky,NicNat,Buddy and Thomas but should work well.

Regarding GAJ, the players you have mentioned didn't move to a new club full of younger kids. All these younger players should be improving their average, and with the limit on SC ppg (~3300), the points have to be lossed somewhere. Ablett's impact on the game is likely to be reduced, as other team mates will be having more of an impact. They'll also be getting more of the ball as well.

I still expect GAJ to go top 3-5 mids, but for the first time since I started playing, I feel as though he's not worth the price tag.

Backs:  8/10 Would like to see Hanley in there, looks a bit week to me.
Mids: 7/10 Gaz is essential I think. I also think that Bennell isn't a great pick iff he's listed as a mid.
Rucks: 9/10 Solid. Sam Michael and Luey are both pretty good though  :-X
Fwds: 8/10 Standard.

Total: 32/40 Backs and Mids are a bit weak imo.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

In regard to gazza, i think only 1 of him and pendles in necessary. And i reckon pendles has caught up to him this year and will now surpass him. there is talk that gazza will start spending more time up forward.

Hurn can have the odd bad game, but he actually scored over 80 in his last 8 games before injury last year. what i really like about him is that he was actually averaging 95 before his injury game. therefore he is very underpriced.

nrich102 i think youre right about my defnece being a bit weak. i might try and fit simpson in there instead of swallow.

I think ur over analysing it. GAJ is the best and will score the best. He scored well at the Cats with a team FULL of other guns.

More boos for an honest opinion eh?

I think Pendles will match it with him, as Footyrulz said earlier. Even Selwood I believe will get very very close. I plan on having him in my team by the end of the year, but I don't see him as an essential starter.

I haven't been on fanfooty since my last post. I respect your opinion, and I'm not going to convince anyone NOT to start GAJ. But I will support those who choose not to start him.

Also, there's actually 1 or 2 people on the forum going around and booing everyone. Most people who post regularly have received 20 boos or so in the last 2-3 days.
