For the young group that started on wednesday (first to fourth year players). I thought it was interesting.

Noticed Hibbo and Daniher finished together, pretty impressive for the young kid

AFEV

Yeah Joe actually has a really high motor.
Raynor you'd expect I suppose he's an elite runner.
Aylett is intriguing.

silloc

Yeah Rayner doesn't count, but Nick O'brien next best is fairly good. he might be one to muscle onto our best 22 as a 3rd year next season.

AFEV

Yeah Nick has always had a ridiculous engine. Last year in his first full pre-season he was the best at the club (ahead of Stanton) in the long distance trials, it's very impressive. Has very good leadership qualities as well but I do have some questions over his footballing nous... I'm a big fan though and I hope he puts in a big one.

Aylett keen to impress his new club, I like it! I thought Colyer had a shocking tank but I suppose it's only 2km

Ricochet

Surprised they do a 2k'er avtually. Thought that most do 3km time trials for testing

Ziplock

I think for younger players they sometimes do a 2km not 3km?

Correct it is only 2km, but when he runs at everyone else's pace he's fine. Also I think he had a lot of issues last year when he put on bulk, it effected his tank.

Nope. Most clubs do the 2km time trial. 3km is only done for the national draft for some reason.

Swans, Port, Geelong all did 3kms today.

Oh true.... I know eagles do 2kms. Last season did 2x 2kms. With small break in between

Yeh i know WCE do them, and i think Adelaide do something similar. But thought a majority of others did 3kms because it was the standard

Yeah, not sure. 2kms does seem rather short. Then again not the greatest indicator anyway as the actual game has a mixture of sprint, jog, walk. As compared to the 2/3k which is more or less one pace the whole time.

Spose it sets some sort of foundation to see where they are at improvement wise in a month or so time when tested again.
