MCC Membership is insanely overrated, especially with the waiting times attached to it

I've had mine for a year, but haven't been able to use it as much as I'd have liked. I appreciate it so much though, i was on the waiting list for just under 18 years, it would suck having to wait 40 or something.

One perk of being MCC is it's the only place where they sell full strength beers, a lot cheaper than anywhere else in the ground too. Not having to ever worry about getting a ticket is great.

I feel this way as well. I have it and will never leave, the annual fees are worth it especially when I am back in Melbourne.

However, I think if your main interest is AFL (not cricket/sports in general) a much better deal is AFL gold/full member, it's about a 10 year wait - guaranteed level 2 seating at 40 AFL games/year (included in membership), including the Grand Final and I think about 5 other finals, a really awesome package. Plus during the wait, you will have Silver Membership, which has a very similar deal I think apart from a few country clubs and things like that, and the GF access.

With a full AFL membership you aren't guaranteed seats - you still have to reserve them for big games. Silver members also can't access grand finals/prelims at all which is the main difference between the two

Dont think I could give a rats ass about going to any games other than Richmond games anyway unless it was a GF or maybe an Anzac Day game.

Really? I love going to games as a neutral, it's often every bit as fun as going to Essendon games for me.
